If you've ever wanted to build an import kit, this is the one. This is your sign. To purchase a milled receiver leaves you at right around $600 total for the gun.
There will possibly never be VZ61 kits in this condition on the US market again. They're drying up. These are so easy to build. The hard part (the barrel) is already done. This is a kitchen table build. .32ACP is not a wildcat. It's off the shelf ammo.
You can do it. If you're not confident and you change your mind, the value on the kit is only go up over time a la SKS or AK.

It needs a press if you want to mount it properly, and that's a more advanced piece of kit than most have on their coffee table at home. Some will tell you helter skelter, line her up and tap her home with a hammer. That would be a great way to mar up a rare original barrel.

These are just spare parts. When you order or assemble the receiver it will just be a receiver. The manner in which you first assemble the gun onto the receiver will determine the receiver's NFA classification.
I would assemble it as a pistol first so that it can be legally reversed to a pistol in the future.
The stock cannot legally be attached to the receiver unless you SBR it first.

You can get a Tortort receiver from Centerfire Systems or a custom receiver from Chefur Customs. Titus will sell you a pre-marked and assembled 3d printed receiver for $60.
All 3 of those options are currently out of stock, so it's what Atlantic is carrying unless you'd like to wait.

I prefer the tortort because if you ever want to SBR it (you do) the dovetail is in the reciever. The bolt on adapters do not allow the stock to lock properly as they have different geometry.

Nope, no welding at all. The barrel needs to be pressed, but that's already done on these kits.
The only power tool you need is a Dremel to modify the disconnector, but you can just buy a manufactured semi-auto one if you'd like.

Max Arms has a parts kit for $20 cheaper and it has two magazines included. The barrel needs to be set, but it is easy to do. I used the bolt and dropped it through the top frame to hammer it in. There is a YT tutorial out there for the whole build that goes over the barrel seating process.

The only tool I needed/used was a small flat head screwdriver to hold the springs into the receiver.
Its insanely easy to build this. The barrel can be seated by using the bolt and letting it drop on the barrel.

‘Hitman industries’ is the USA maker who was turning out threaded barrels, though I hear they sometimes needed some minor fitment and polishing for reliable feeding vs original barrels. Most are out of stock of that currently.
I don’t see much of either threaded kits or kits w/o barrels. You could ping the bowman guys and see if they are restocking any soon.
I think Arms of America is still blacklisted here, but they were selling original barrels with a $20 up charge to have them thread it, might be those get restocked.
