Going to be huge for GTA VI and all the aggressive upscaling that will likely require.
Exxon21@reddit
for the Pro specifically, i'd be more worried about a potential CPU bottleneck. the GPU got massively upgraded, but the CPU barely changed from the standard PS5.
Lincolns_Revenge@reddit
The only reason I'm not expecting a CPU bottleneck necessarily is that I strongly believe the night club and beach scenes from the trailer aren't anywhere close to realistic gameplay targets. And those two specifically will be cutscenes in the game if they look anything like the trailer.
Strazdas1@reddit
It will just be the typical case of gimped cutout version for initial release, full version for next gen consoles, fixed released for PC. Three purchases for people with no patience.
1AMA-CAT-AMA@reddit
I’m not worried. I’m sure the regular ps5 will be able to do 1080p 60. That’s not a big ask these days. Apply pssr on it, and it’s 4k60.
foreveraloneasianmen@reddit
Probably just reduce the amount of npc and some features on the console version
Appropriate_Ad8734@reddit
how does that compare to the USSR? is that an actual improvement or just marketing hype
hackenclaw@reddit
Unified Spectral Super Resolution... hmm some kind of opensource version that work on all Architecture?
mecha_monk@reddit
OUR architecture, comrade.
joeyat@reddit
We’re back in the PSSR… you don’t know how lucky you are..
TheHoratioHufnagel@reddit
Believe the hype, PSSR compares favorably to the failed communist state.
work-school-account@reddit
Relevant unrecognized state
IcyConsequence9107@reddit
He he. Funny typo.
pomyuo@reddit
I looked into the article, supposedly big PSSR is improved over little PSSR
angry_RL_player@reddit
It seems like the FSR4 on RDNA2/3 debacle is probably due to Sony gatekeeping it. This has been speculated on r/radeon.
This is not the first time Sony has done anti-consumer stuff like this, for example the crossplay fortnite issue, helldivers PSN account issue, a literal anti-compete lawsuit, and now pulling games from PC it's clearly obvious this is Sony pulling the strings.
Your-Paramour@reddit
Source for that claim?
angry_RL_player@reddit
logical deduction
LAwLzaWU1A@reddit
Is that logical deduction by any chance "AMD can do no wrong, so it must be someone else forcing them!"?
Lalaz4lyf@reddit
Ass
Greedom619@reddit
I eat ass too
Darkknight1939@reddit
AMD sycophants on Reddit are an actual cult, lmao.
pythonic_dude@reddit
It's even scarier once you realize that given radeon market share, an abnormally large number of us radeon users are on reddit.
JakeTappersCat@reddit
Damn the Sony fans piled on you for telling the truth (that Sony is very anti-consumer and if they told AMD hold back on releasing FSR4 for RDNA3, they would)
Sony is AMD's most important customer. If they want AMD not not release this for RDNA 3 (which makes Sony's product look better in comparison to PC) AMD has not choice but to accept
unapologetic-tur@reddit
Sony's custom chip straight up has far more INT8 capability than RDNA 2/3. PSSR runs on INT8. It just wasn't meant to be.
ryanvsrobots@reddit
AMD has complete agency over how they run their business.
FrequentX@reddit
What?! No
AMD has talked about this several times at CES
There's even an interview with AMD's VP at CES It was very clear that AMD doesn't want to invest resources in supporting previous-generation hardware at the moment
But he spoke of maybe exploring a beta version
PSSR has the same roots as FSR 4 but it's a different tech Just Like Apple's MetalFx is based on FSR
And FSR 4 will be open source in the future too, in fact it was a few months ago but it was an accident and they took it out again
hasanahmad@reddit
I’ll wait for Daniel Owen’s second opinion
thunder6776@reddit
He knows very little though, it shows every-time he speaks that he is just a school teacher.
Jonny_H@reddit
"Lower Kowledge but Earnest" vs "Lots of Knowledge, but it's all from company press releases" is an annoying choice.
DavidsSymphony@reddit
Reducing Digital Foundry to that when their tech analysis are second to none is insane. If you talk to anybody in the industry you'll know how highly they are regarded. And even if you don't like how they present things, you can take your own conclusions from the tech analysis, which again, nobody else even comes close to replicate.
kekmanofthekeks@reddit
That is literally what they are though. Their opinion or expertise is only a tad better than random hardware dudes on reddit.
Simply put they don't add anything to an analysis a layman couldn't do given enough time. They have no real expertise.
DavidsSymphony@reddit
We literally just had 2 members of the DF completely disagree about their 2 colleagues who covered DLSS 5, one of them having a meltdown on social media about it, the other rationally explaining why he hates it on video. What the fuck are you even talking about.
thunder6776@reddit
Their 2 braincells don’t allow them to reason beyond what their grifter overlords told them on youtube.c0m
kekmanofthekeks@reddit
What you said literally applies to your worship of DF lmao.
Gloomy_Necesary@reddit
And he loves to tow the line and bait for engagement
thunder6776@reddit
Exactly, and acts all high and mighty when someone calls him out. I understand his point if view like go get the bag but cmon stand by it.
Orelha3@reddit
You could always just watch the video and see the difference with your own eyes
horizon936@reddit
Don't be rude, telling people to think for themselves, man... Preposterous!!!
whodatt_91@reddit
Lmfao
Wrong_Relative1075@reddit
I'll wait for a proper review from an unbiased place unlike these guys using their platform to advertise multi billions dollars companies
NetJnkie@reddit
It's good to listen to people that have differing opinions from your own.
Mr-Superhate@reddit
Not when their opinions are glorified advertisements.
veckans@reddit
They will probably backtrack from this statement if the community doesn't like their opinion
