10 yr old account banned and got my first warning ever on a comment all in the same week.

reddit moderators deemed activity on my account suspicious and locked it. i never received an email telling me about it that i could answer or reply saying it was me. after about the 8th person telling me that email is the only way to get it back. even after me showing them the private relay is tied to two different accounts and is why i cant get emails.
so i went tried to reset my password as i was forced to by there locking my account. they are basically telling me suck it up don't cry and get another account like karma is no big deal.
Then there was yesterday lol. this guy kept ranting on and on about free grok being yanked and i felt he needed some truth in his life. many people were saying a lot worse than i said. they deleted my comment and gave me a warning the only one.
now i have to appeal all this like i am some criminal thats guilty until proven innocent.
i would post my comment but know if i can.

i took a full month off of reddit, coming back its obvious how much brain rot is on this platform...
the only thing reddit has over most other alternatives is active users.

more intelligent conversations are better than more brain rot comments.
Different_Career1009@reddit
where are these more intelligent conversations
ImUrFrand@reddit
seemingly anywhere but reddit, youtube, facebook (all products), tiktok and twitter.

somehow i knew you wouldn't have an answer

You certainly aren't contributing one.

i challenge a claim someone made. i see you need subtitles.

idk, there are plenty around... have a look at ycombinator news, seems discussion on those boards aren't completely contaminated with brain rot yet. its not so much a social media platform, but it does have discussions by people that aren't arm chair expert answering, when they are actual experts.

finally i get a real answer, thanks

Appealing to reddit mods is useless. Even if you are 100% in the right they will just block you from communicating with them.

This. It's more than just Reddit these days, but Reddit mods are really bad about it. I remember asking once for clarification on a rule they said I banned, including me posting the full text and asking what I banned (nothing I did met the test), then I got a 30 day mute, a temp ban, and an hour later, a permanent ban. All without any appeals process or anyone answering my question.
This was while a mod was talking to me (being nice) and was trying to justify the ban until then and said I should appeal it and I was just asking for clarity on the rule as the rule cited didn't even seem to apply. No answer, no clarification, no "Oh, we meant this other numbered rule", no "Oh, you're right", just mute so I couldn't even talk and then perma.
It's wild how some people given just a little power can turn into hyper bullies and not realize they're being the Dolores Umbridge in the situation.

Yeah, reddit's reporting is straight up broken and has been for years: It is regularly abused and they just don't care sometimes if your ban or report is not legitimate.

1000% this ☝️

Agree with them, 100%.
Who cares. Stop complaining. It's fake Internet points.

They tried something similar with me for using a common vpn. Reddit is just the fucking worst now.

I got banned for 3 days, repealed, perma banned, and I think I repealed the perma. Can people see this?
CREATURE_COOMER@reddit
I can see your comment, but don't get your hopes up, I've known people who were mass-reported (trans people joking about the bigotry they've faced which is somehow "hate speech" when I've reported blatant slurs and calls to violence that somehow "don't break content policy") and even when they successfully appealed every temp-ban, too many still result in a perma and the admin that replied to one person said that it's automatic even if the temp-bans are appealed and that they wouldn't approve the perma-ban appeal.
If you get another warning or temp-ban, they might just escalate it to another perma, lol. As far as I'm concerned, after one or two temp bans, anybody should just ditch their account and make a new one because Reddit's reporting system is garbage.
