I'm trying to figure it out. The grip is just not a great shape for my hand it seems. The different back straps adjusted the parts of the grip I wasn't having issues with. I wear medium-to-large mechanix gloves, but another user mentioned they use XL so idk what my issue is.

It's always been slightly off for me too (XL-XXL glove sized hands), hard to pin down exactly why. I think it's maybe the combination of top heavy and a fairly shallow beaver tail. I've just never been able ro get high enough up on there like I can in vp9, shadow 2, or even p365x

Have you tried the compact? It's the same size grip frame as the PPQ and P99. Not necessarily "compact" like most people would assume by the naming but it's the 15 round grip. The full-size are 18 round.

I've tried the P99, PDP-F, and PDP Full Size. I kind of wish they would take the grip shape of the PDP-F and expand it to a full size offering... But there's probably only a handful of us out there that need it.

I have the same issue. I have average palms but long fingers and the Walther PDP/HK VP9 fit my hand very poorly.
My main issue is with my support hand—with the medium (standard) backstrap, the grip narrows and tapers toward the rear too much (and my fingers wrap too far around the front) for my support hand to find much contact on the frame. And if I use the large backstrap, the change in geometry works great for my support hand but messes up my primary hand's grip.
Doesn't make the PDP a bad gun, just makes it a bad fit for me.

Interesting, I think I have the reverse problem. Medium fingers but large palm. The large grip insert puts my trigger finger in a better spot, but the palm feels like it's pushed too far back. I agree though, it's a great gun that doesn't gel with my weird hands.

Interesting. Maybe I just have a bad hand shape or something. I shoot Glocks, Beretta 90s, 1911s, M&Ps, and CZ75s comfortably. Every Walther I've tried though just didn't feel great to me. I want to like the gun. They're built incredibly well and the trigger is fantastic, but just something about the shape doesn't gel with my meat hooks.

My first thoughts shooting my base PDP were, "oh man my VP9L is about to get very jealous." Turns out they're both about equal for me, each better at certain things, but the ergos are so similar between both that I find the switch pretty seamless. I'd say the biggest difference is that I like the PDP trigger significantly more. I can finally feel the grit/hitching thing with the VP9 that everyone goes on about.

Pretty much every single Canik in their lineup is a part-interchangeable copy of the Walther P99, PPQ or PDP. Budget maybe, but the Caniks I've had have been solid.
