The whole thing seems REALLY suspicious. The fake acting especially and paying attention to the camera during the "emergency"

He said in a podcast he turned the cockpit camera on as an instinct to use as a black box

Yes. I have questions too My 100 hp rotax engine would not windmill at 80 mph, yet this higher compression engine was? And the had on the throttle the entire way down? Is that muscle memory or there to start a go around?
In any event. Great pilot skills to put it down on the 300 feet and take Off again, but. Still very SUS

This feels so fishy to me. That perfect landing area at the last second was just too perfect....

I have questions. I notice the prop seem to vary rpm after the engine “quits”. Pretty noticeable with the shutter effect. Rotax have a sprag clutch, shouldn’t the prop windmill following airspeed if the engine stops? Rpms should not vary with throttle input. Which you can see on multiple occasions including in the turn to base and final. Throttle action and rpm changes. Does this landing look to be under power to anyone else? Why does he pull the throttle on landing if the engine is dead? No ELT activation or mayday call but we grab the Garmin and turn on the camera? Why was the FAA not involved if this was an accident with substantial damage to the tail and tailwheel?
That g3x records everything, I would love to see that data file.

Definitely got the Trevor Jacob 2.0 vibes after watching part 1 and 2. What are the odds he runs out of fuel right over the only landing spot in Hells Canyon… then gets rescued by a tour boat guide that wants to come back with him the next day and film the whole thing with his drone. This clearly happened last summer and he sits on it for months, probably doing legal research, then hires a production team to make these videos because he know it will get a lot of views. I’m sure he was underwhelmed with his channel growth since paying a lot of money for a famous plane.

I saw that one yesterday, it’s a great emergency landing but he really drags out the story and then leaves us hanging for a future Pt 2 where he implies flying it out of the crash site.
Spoiler alert: The issue was his gas cap not being screwed back on correctly.
