I used them for a while but eventually moved on. I got the impression they want customers who own European cars that want an independent mechanic but are otherwise hands off and just do whatever the mechanic says.
I’m more involved in that I want to know what’s going on but I don’t want to do the actual work. So I felt like they weren’t a good fit.
Their facilities are very nice and the people are friendly. But I always felt like I was talking to a maître d’ instead of a mechanic.
He asked that I share his email address in the thread. He says it’s easier for him with new customers. He is a bit of a savant when it comes to electronics. Several VW shops in the area will call him as a last resort to resuscitate dead ECUs, things like that. Info@advancedcarelectronics.com
From my experience with my Jetta, they’re slightly higher than a few other shops I’ve been to, but they’re also more knowledgeable. Before doing work, they brought me in to see my vehicle on a lift and they walked me through my issues. Local VW dealership was more expensive and they’re just trying to upsell you on everything. I’d go back to Blair for any real work I need done.
We took my wife’s Audi there for oil changes and they’ve been great. Can’t comment on other services since her car is pretty new but felt they ran a good operation. A couple weeks ago they did her oil change and something happened and they ended up comping the oil change which was thoughtful.
