Best Dallas Movers?

Hello! Planning a local move within Dallas next month. Wondering if anyone has moving companies you’ve used and would recommend? Or companies you would avoid?
Thanks!

Any experience with All My Sons? We're planning to use them in July. They gave me an hourly rate, but no one came out to look at our "stuff." Is that customary?

I have never, ever heard of a company coming to look at your stuff.

Thanks!

We used Square Cow Moovers for a local Dallas move last year and had a good experience.

Einstein and a Piece of Cake. Avoid Finess Movers like the black plague.
NorthTexasNomad@reddit
Piece of Cake is national right? I didn’t know they were in Dallas. I’ve heard good things about them.
The last couple of times I moved I went with Dallas Area Movers. They go by the DAM Moving Company which I got a kick out of 🤣 but they’ve been consistently great. Not the cheapest but definitely worth every penny!

Agreed. Used piece of cake and they were great. Finesse damaged a bunch of my stuff and then it was a whole ordeal to get them to fix or pay for any of it. Plus they disappeared on us for a while pretty sure to get high.

The owner of Finess, Colby, straight up lied to me multiple times, forgot my move (they showed up 4 hours late and the movers said they didn't know about another move today), and then told his movers durring my move that I was a scammer. Fuck that guy.
Tdj04@reddit
Sounds about right. He was scheduled to come see my damage multiple times and either no showed or cancelled last minute and then acted like it was my fault that things were damaged and wanted to fix them with tape. When I told him I wanted the coffee table actually repaired he ghosted. Also, fun fact: his guys called us up after they left and asked us how much we tipped them. That furniture had been through 3 moves with zero damage too.

I wonder if Colby steals tips? I tipped through the same CC transaction, so maybe they had been stiffed by him before.

Einstein was my best ever experience. I’ve lived here 15 years

I’ve only heard good things about Einstein, but they were a bit out of my price range a few years ago.
The last several time I’ve moved, I’ve used the Dallas Area Movers. A little more affordable, 5-star service, and their owners are great! Zero complaints.

I just used Dallas Area Movers for a local move last month and honestly couldn’t be happier! The crew showed up on time, handled everything with care, and the guys were very efficient! No surprise charges, no damaged items. Would 100% recommend giving them a call if you’re moving in the Dallas area!
NorthTexasNomad@reddit
Second this! The guys at Dallas Area Movers were amazing every time we used them. Last I checked they didn’t have any reviews less than 5-stars. That’s gotta be tough in this line of work!
BigDExplorer@reddit
Used Dallas Area Movers a few times now and they’ve been consistently great every time.
It’s a locally owned company, and you can tell the owners really care about the quality of their work and customer experience.
Definitely recommend if you want a smooth, hassle-free move.

AB Movers was great for me a few weeks ago.

Another vote for Einstein, pricey but worth it. Very professional, don't run up the clock, and make sure nothing gets damaged.
Perfect-Opening-4003@reddit (OP)
Einstein seems like a popular rec! how pricey were they compared to other movers?
TexasLiz1@reddit
I got a few quotes and did not think they were much higher than other movers. There’s always someone who comes in cheap. But it depends on how much you like your stuff.
barking-potato@reddit
$190/hr for 2 movers and all their supplies, they do charge a trip fee if one/both of the addresses is outside their service area. I previously used other movers that were cheaper hourly but they purposefully ran up the clock, and broke stuff without saying anything, so it ended up being a lot more expensive than Einstein at the end

I really liked Einstein.

Full House Moving, based in Plano. Used them personally 3 times.

I rented a U-Haul box and used one of the movers suggested on the website- S&S Relocation Services. They were great! Loaded the box super quick, made everything fit (against all odds), took good care of my stuff. Affordable, super efficient, professional.

I had no issues with ab movers
