I'm in the market for one of these (used) and I wonder if the 6.4 is worth the premium over the 5.7. I'm thinking not.
EsotericVerbosity@reddit
Yes.
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
Blast from the ~2 months ago past. I'm actually now looking at a new Rumble Bee with the 5.7L vs a used 6.4L Durango!
USS-Hellcat@reddit
The 5.7 to the 6.4 is a big jump in performance. It absolutely is worth it.
Stu__Pidasso@reddit
Absolutely. Was a no brainer for me when I was looking at Challengers and I had no regrets with it. Scratched every gorilla itch I had
daxelkurtz@reddit
"It's an SUV, put the Hellcat in it" is not nearly as cokebrained as "it's the 17th model year, call it the Launch Edition"

Unhappy_Paper4249@reddit
Im about to order the 392 can someone look over my order make tell if im missing anything before i order it. Please
Last-Ad-1893@reddit
I canāt seem to find one for sale and you canāt build one on the website. Are they even for sale yet? Iām very interested.
drewforty@reddit
Not only is this like the 15th year of the chassis, itās already had a āfinal editionā 6.4 SRT in 2024 didnāt it? And werenāt they sued over this or the ālast callā editions? Howās the launch edition come after the final edition of the identical truck š
Secksualinnuendo@reddit
Dodge_Durango FINAL.FINAL.V3.FINAL
Thomas_633_Mk2@reddit
16th year, it can legally drive in some countries. Which is kinda cool
SloCalLocal@reddit
This looks like a really fun version of my daily, a Honda CR-V. Of course, my Honda will run forever and this won't, but a Hemi does scratch a particular itch.
rakster@reddit
Just in time for $5 gas
theColeHardTruth@reddit
man, they really will give a hemi to anything except the charger anymore, won't they?
ramsfan00@reddit
Its coming.
I know someone specifically working on the new V8 for the charger. I don't know what else its going in but it won't be the outgoing previous 6.4 L engine.
hi_im_bored13@reddit
all of these (1500, Durango) were already designed for the hemi though, they're just re-introducing the option, the charger on the other hand was never designed explicitly to take the hemi
theColeHardTruth@reddit
Sure, but the Hurricane I6 is absolutely massive in every dimension except width, which the Charger has plenty of. There's no way they couldn't figure it out if they really wanted to.
hi_im_bored13@reddit
I mean they're probably figuring it out but width is a pretty important bit, & the shock towers extend quite a bit inwards from the fenders
& while they change that up, I imagine they're not going to say much about it as it would hurt the already quite bad i6 sales
theColeHardTruth@reddit
I think that second point is right on the money. Which is sad because they undoubtedly sunk quite a huge sum into the i6 charger, but at this point it seems like it wasn't enough. Maybe a V8 is what it needs to prop up sales while they go back to the drawing board and iron out some of its deficiencies...
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
Thing is, the hurricane motor seems fantastic, 420hp in base trim, the scat with 540, that's better than the comparable v8s in the prior gen.
I think they just need more videos of people hooning the absolute shit out of these cars to convince buyers, going with the electric model first has really killed the vibes - but that hurricane engine is no bullshit.
zboarderz@reddit
This is honestly the crazy part. By all indications, the hurricane i6 seems to be a great engine. It hasnāt had any catastrophic issues in the 4ish years itās been in production.
And as we all know, a twin turbo straight six is about as great as it gets.
So great in fact that Iām actually looking for a ram with it over the hemi.
Pliskin_Hayter@reddit
The Charger name is one of those that still hold that old school tradition. Theres a perception built in from that multi decade long legacy and its presence in pop culture as an icon in both Fast and the Furious and Dukes of Hazard. Its transcended just being a well known car. Its one of the few muscle cars that actually stayed/came back after the old muscle car days as well.
Its expected to be a muscle car. That expectation will never go away.
Jnaythus@reddit
I think would-be fans are wanting the Hemi V8 sound or GTFO.
joeislandstranded@reddit
Thatās what I think, too.
Additionally, for those of us that are more āprogressive mindedā enthusiasts, and would totally think a nice TT I6 is awesome s as well, many of us donāt want it in a big heavy tank of a car.
Offer something more midsize, lighter, and nimble. More 2-series. Less 6-series
Lucreth2@reddit
It's the worst sounding straight 6 I've ever heard. Straight up pep boys exhaust. I was hyper milling the damn thing just to keep the engine quiet enough that the radio could drown out what was left.
And it doesn't fit the personality of the car, AT ALL.
it is fast though so I guess there's that.
DaggumTarHeels@reddit
Eh, the BMW S55 sounds worse.
Lucreth2@reddit
Absolutely not, have you spent much time around and inside the new charger? It's not just unsatisfying, it's an awful, grating drone that rises to full on cacophony as soon as you try to merge in traffic. The only way to comfortably drive that piece of shit over any distance would be with ear plugs.
DaggumTarHeels@reddit
I've heard it in person yeah, I just think the S55 sounds like a wet fart.
Lucreth2@reddit
You're not completely wrong there. It's not my personal choice.
But if you get a chance, take a hurricane charger for at least a 5 minute drive or so. The speed is enchanting but it feels a bit uncontrolled and as soon as you start to settle in the noise creeps into your conscious and won't let go. Sport mode is particularly egregious.
I will say it might have something to do with everything about the car screaming Grand tourer then having that obnoxious engine. If it was quiet around town I think I could get along with it but it's louder than the hemi was. By comparison the hemi was a warm vibrating auditory hug lulling you to sleep as you hummed down the highway.
Lucreth2@reddit
It still sounds like dog shit and both engines are more than enough for the street.
MachWun@reddit
4 years...I am a tech, I work on all makes and models. I just saw my first one 2 weeks ago!
Wierd657@reddit
They shouldn't build a V8 at all and continue putting those resources into reliability. They caved and will eventually regret it.
The people who want a Charger will get one no matter what, regardless of what actually powers it.
cubs223425@reddit
The engine isn't the problem. It's the platform. Building it as an EV-first chassis means the ICE variant has to suffer from design cues meant to support the EV. In addition to the added weight, I think Throttle House specifically pointed out worse weight distribution and a higher floor becuase of the structural rigidity for the battery pack that was underneath. It lead to not feeling quite as good to sit in as it should.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
Now if they would put the Hurricane into a smaller car like the Giulia. Stellantis would be cooking with grease.
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
The hurricane engine is super strong, but it's a big heavy fucker. At ~450lbs it's 100-150lbs more than a lot of performance turbo six engines.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
Damn, what makes it so heavy compared to something like a B58?
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
Honestly above my pay grade, but my wild guess would be that since Stellantis designed it to replace their V8s in the applications they were used in (trucks, SUVs, yachts with four wheels) then they just really didn't focus on saving weight much at all.
But yeah, a B58/S58 is 140lbs lighter than this bad boy lol.
gdnws@reddit
One thing to keep in mind is that the hurricane is making a lot more torque than the B/S58 even when accounting for BMW's typical underrating. Torque tends to necessitate heavier components. That and since it was intended to see truck duty cycles and as such see heavy loads for long periods of time that also tends to increase weight since it would then be expected to make high torque for long periods of time. I would be curious to get a high output hurricane and a BMW S58 torn down and laid out side by side to compare because they both have the exact same displacement; both have 84mm bores and 90mm strokes.
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
The s58 in competition trim is doing like 480lbft at like 3k rpm. The hurricane is a bit more but the s58 is known to easily handle 1000 on stock internals. Idk if its components adding that much, the power ratings arenāt far.
gdnws@reddit
Overall power ratings aren't that far, no. The S58 is also able to rev to a significantly higher rpm too. I suspect it is a durability cycle thing in addition to the additional turbo and its supporting components as such I would like to see the components compared side by side since they are otherwise similar engines. Supposedly Mopar is coming out with a hurricane crate engine that is putting out in the 1000 hp neighborhood but have not as of yet. No idea on what the internals are.
theColeHardTruth@reddit
because its intended applications have always been:
-Trucc
-Trucc with hatch (SUV)
-Small Trucc with hatch (Crossover)
-Itty bitty Trucc with no bed (Charger)
With that in mind, weight has never really been a consideration i think
Girth_Brookss@reddit
The Charger should have been put on ice for a few years. The classic Dodge Darts had a slant 6 option, but they just haaaad to make a shitbox in the past and ruin that part of the brand. Im really interested if there are going to be Highway pull monsters popping up with big turbos in the future. Its like the inverse of when the SRT-4 came out. Or when the supra was all BMW. Yeah, this is awesome, but i just can't. Lol
Wierd657@reddit
The thing is, they should definitely NOT make a V8 Charger. The Hurricane 6 is more efficient and smoother with similar power outputs.
The real buyers will always buy one. They will put themselves into massive debt just to say they own one no matter what just because it's a Charger.
Give the whiners 2 years to bitch about a car they're not buying anyway and move on.
withsexyresults@reddit
the old charger/challengers have shocktowers very far inboard too
Ambereggyolks@reddit
Is the hurricane engine bad? I know people want the hemi which was the selling point of the charger, but is it a real downgrade?
Outlaw25@reddit
It's genuinely an upgrade over the V8 in every measurable metric. The only reasons people have to want the V8 is sound(arguably solvable with an aftermarket exhaust, see BMW M cars) and nostalgia.
randeus@reddit
As great as the B58/S58 is, people either love or hate the way it sounds even with aftermarket. The Hemi, on the other hand, sounds great to most people.
gdnws@reddit
At least with the hurricane engine, I'm in the group of I like the way it sounds. The hemi meanwhile is probably my second favourite sounding v8 out there and I'm quite biased towards v8's in general. That being said I am heavily considering a hurricane equipped vehicle.
Ambereggyolks@reddit
They need to push the new engine more. Market a new era of american muscle or something. Maybe tweak the exhaust to make it sound more like the old car?
Some of the most iconic engines have been inline 6s.
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
The hurricane is more powerful than the 392 was in the prior car, it's a very solid engine, I think it's just an image issue.
theColeHardTruth@reddit
Also sound. I'm not a Dodge fan, and I love a good inline 6 sound as much as the next guy, but the Hurricane sounds like doodoo in every video I've seen, and it only gets worse once they add in the artificial sound that gets pumped in through the car speakers.
TalbotFarwell@reddit
I wonder what itād take to get a Hurricane sounding like a 2JZ or a RB26.
Ambereggyolks@reddit
So many iconic i6 engines. They definitely need to tune the exhaust if thats a downside to it.
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
You keep hearing both sides of this - rumors left and right that the Hemi is coming back soon, but for every article talking about verified rumors there's another quoting some engineer that says the Hemi simply does not fit - as in the firewall dimensions are insufficient as well as the cradle area.
I guess we'll see, but it seems like at bare minimum if they do bring it back it's requiring significant modifications to the entire firewall/front end setup.
Milk-Man75@reddit
I think it's also a possibility that Dogde is designing a new Hemi since even the Hellcat is over a decade old design at this point, and the 5.7 is nearly 25.
Drzhivago138@reddit
That's just another example of a platform that had already been designed (in the mid-2010s) with the width of the Hemi and Pentastar V6 in mind. The DT Ram 1500 had the Hemi from 2019-24, then it was dropped for '25, now it's back.
The_Strom784@reddit
I thought they had a functioning prototype with a Hemi in it. But I could be misremembering.
gdnws@reddit
If the specs in this article are accurate, the hurricane is an inch or two wider than the hemi even when accounting for the exhaust manifolds. On its own, a fairly narrow bore inline engine is fairly narrow in width but when you hang a pair of turbos off one side and a fairly sizable intercooler on the other, you end up with a fairly wide engine package. And at the same time the hemi, even with the big hemi heads is still fairly compact for what it is.
theColeHardTruth@reddit
Thank you for finding that article! I was looking for something like that earlier but just couldn't! So yeah, there really is so little reason they couldn't shove the hemi into the charger. And tbh it could be even cheaper than the Hurricane seeing as there's no R&D that needs to be done, and the hemi apparently makes less power!
A move like that would almost-definitely give the charger the kick in the pants it needs (and I argue, deserves)
gdnws@reddit
At a bare minimum, a v8 should be an option. I personally wouldn't get one without one even though I think the hurricane is a good engine.
NobodySpecial969@reddit
That 100k Hellcat is coming, donāt worry.
RAM_AIR_IV@reddit
I'm pretty sure that is on the way soon
theColeHardTruth@reddit
Let's hope! Then they might actually sell some of them!
TroyFerris13@reddit
I've seen 2 new chargers since release š¤£
aquariuminspace@reddit
I've seen probably half a dozen... at the track, most owned by Radford and all the EV variant. I do think they're reasonably nice looking but that's about the only positive I have to say lol.
FrozenUruguayBallbac@reddit
this is going to sound mental but i hope the new one will be a track style car to compete with the M5 and RS6 and be lighter and track focused. That over be a horseback buggy that weighs 6K at the least with a gazillion horsepower and still handle its weight surprising well
Dopplegangr1@reddit
They cant throw it in the new charger since the 6cyl makes too much power, the would have to give it the hellcat treatment and charge six figures
Drzhivago138@reddit
That's the idea. There probably won't be a "base" 5.7 Hemi option like the previous gen.
mustangfan12@reddit
Eventually it will come to Charger, issue is that it wasn't initially designed for the Hemi
So they need to get the hardware and software working and validate everything
Anon-a-mess@reddit
I feel like they've painted themselves into a corner. People who bought the six pack will be very angry when the hemi drops in
JohnDoee94@reddit
The development cost, durability testing requirements, and tighter emissions standards for passenger cars make it harder.
The Durango is relatively ācleanā for its emissions standard. Lot easier to get an SUV to pass EPA requirements than a PC.
12-34@reddit
When I think of performance, I naturally envision gigantic, tall, bulbous, and super heavy!
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Theyve already announced its coming to the Charger, likely late 2026 or 2027.
runway31@reddit
Gotta build hype for a few more years
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
This is the same Durango that's been in production since 2010 lol.
I've gotta hand it to Stellantis, they've really figured out one specific buyer; Do you want new tech? an updated platform? an interior that looks newer than the last recession? something other than hard plastics everywhere? How about just a body that won't completely fall apart in 60k miles?
What if we said no to all of that, but here's a big fuckin V8? Yeah that's what I thought.
Vortex_BRIMOB@reddit
State Patrol has now found their new patrol vehicle of choice after the death of the Charger
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
It is kinda wild that thereās really no current actual cars for police to use in the modern era. Iām not sure if Iāve ever seen a circumstance where the only real option for police vehicles was SUVs lol.
monkeys_pass@reddit
Theyāve updated the interior and exterior in that time even if itās the same platform. Have you been in one of these? Theyāre damn nice. This is an insane bargain for 50k.
Gtrex4@reddit
I always wanted a Durango when I rented one back in the day Rt and this was my first time driving a v8, thing was bonkers. I still love it but donāt want a charger because I need big for dog and hauler/tow. Now ur telling me SRT engine for 50k? Fk Iām definitely getting one next year canāt beat that.
Budgetweeniessuck@reddit
My in laws have had a Durango for 11 years and never had any issues. They're fine cars for the price.Ā
Drzhivago138@reddit
It came out when I was a senior in high school. Some of my classmates could easily be thinking about buying one as a family car.
HawtGarbage918@reddit
I mean, to be fair, it's 470-hp 3-row family vehicle that tows four tons and runs 0-60 as quick as a 993 Turbo for the price of the average new passenger car. That makes up for a lot
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
Yeah, I mean if your priority is literally "I want V8" above any number of other features then sure, I get it, there's definitely a buyer for that.
No-Pipe4332@reddit
Yup that buyer is me!
inlibrary_legsnumb@reddit
Thats a pretty important feature to a lot of people...
Also, its one of the few crossover/suvs thats not saddled with a small engine that cam actually fit in modern garages. The yukon/Tahoe are a bit too long.
Zcypot@reddit
Yea the performance definitely makes it more enticing. I love my Yukon. It carries my family and extended family perfectly fine. Has more than enough power to keep me sane. I tuned it on e55(but had 2.5ā exhaust section thanks to dumb exhaust shop) and made 420whp/480wtq. Itās RWD tho so my best 0-60 so far was on stock tune. 5.9 seconds while spinning most of first gear. I had the 8 speed shifting tweak recently so Iām curious how much faster it would be on ethanol.
willpc14@reddit
If you don't need a super modern/contemporary interior, that's a super compelling package.
Less-Mushroom@reddit
To be fair to the Durango it's actually fairly compelling because it offers a lot of towing compared to the Traverse/Pilot/Highlander that it's priced to compete with. And all the powertrains are fairly reliable and serviceable. The fact that it didn't really get touched by Stellantis is a good thing
czarfalcon@reddit
I was gonna say, ānew old carā was a big part of the reason the 5th generation 4Runner sold as well as it did. Iām not trying to equate Dodge reliability with Toyotaās, but yeah, if it aināt broke donāt fix it.
champ1270@reddit
I agree about the towing. It's extremely overlooked. My mom has a Durango RT for towing her horse trailer. Other options were either much more expensive (Tahoe) or too big for her garage (most pickups, probably the Tahoe too) or just not practical (pickups, she has no use for the bed 99% of the time).
SOMTAWS6@reddit
The 6.4 was an SRT model previously, I thought? And far more expensive? And non-existent in 2026?
The chassis in the Durango has always been a joy to drive - Iāve driven RTs, SRTs, and Hellcat Durangos. Iāve loved every one of them. Hell, if they werenāt so easy to steal, Iād own one.
CF interior and leather door/dash along with suede headliner sounds pretty nice to me. And the price is spectacular.
This is a win for enthusiasts that need the space.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Why should they update the platform though? The platform is fine, its had upgrades done over the years, in 2021 it got a new interior and exterior. For what its worth the new Durango is probably the best fullsize on the market rn. Its reliable, its cheap, its very easy to maintain and can be serviced at home without specialized tools, they have good motors to choose from, they ride pretty well, they look great, whats bad about it? A BMW buyer was never going to buy a Dodge, why should they cater to the BMW buyer?
YOUDIEMOFO@reddit
Buying mine today....Ā So excited!!
DZello@reddit
Just in time for 6$ gas.
TripleShotPls@reddit
Who could've seen this coming...
xselimbradleyx@reddit
If youāre buying that you already dgaf about gas prices.
DaggumTarHeels@reddit
People with a sub 500 credit score living paycheck to paycheck definitely care about the price of gas, and that's the target market for Stellantis.
ItsAndwew@reddit
Idk man, on a gas guzzler, adding 20% to fuel costs is still significant.
DZello@reddit
and that one needs premium gas.
steakpienacho@reddit
6.4 hemi does not need premium gas lol, this isn't the supercharged 6.2
USS-Hellcat@reddit
Yeah it does. I used to have a Scat Pack. The manual states 91 or higher octane is required for the engine.
TimTomTank@reddit
New engines can run ethanol because they can change timing and how ritch the mixture is on the fly.
But, the problem is that the first ignition is always expecting premium. Then, if the engine detects knock, will it mess with timing and what not to be able to run without knock.
So, to get peak HP, and to not have knock at all, you need premium.
SnikySquirrel@reddit
It absolutely needs premium.
L_viathan@reddit
Significant? Yes. Will they bitch and moan? Also yes. Will they change their habits? Fuck no.
Therefore, fuck em.
Pdxlater@reddit
Clearly you donāt understand the typical Dodge buyer.
Splenda@reddit
I'm not sure that any of us really understand Dodge buyers.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Thats insanity, gas is $3.60 near me, i cant imagine paying nearly double that
withsexyresults@reddit
3.6 is really cheap, but ya my last fill up was at 6.5
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Theyre all around $3.60 in NJ, its not really cheap, its just what it costs. If anything $6.50 is ridiculously expensive, I've never seen gas that high in my life
withsexyresults@reddit
if you drove in europe or japan, their prices are pretty up there too when you do the conversion. highest for me was like 7
Lower_Kick268@reddit
I never been outside the US before so idk

Not everyone has money for overseas travel
DZello@reddit
I live in Canada and we're already paying 7$ a gallon.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
That sucks, drive over the boarder to the US to get your gas, it should be about half the price.
DZello@reddit
That's what we used to do back then, but these days, nobody is going to risk crossing the border just for gasoline.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Whats the risk crossing the boarder?
DZello@reddit
Politely, I could simply say that I'm waiting for the business to change management before setting foot in it again.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Ok but what's the risk? Are they gonna siphon your gas out of your tank at the border?
DZello@reddit
not being able to return home because some zealous moron decides I am an illegal immigrant because of my accent.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
I mean if you're crossing a checkpoint legally you have everything to prove you're here legally, I'm struggling to understand your point here.
Drzhivago138@reddit
Like that stops ICE. They've already shot citizens.
DZello@reddit
Lot of people were arrested and were in the US legally. ICE even killed several American citizens. One Canadian even died in detention.
If Americans want to have visitors again, they're going to have to clean the house first.
L_viathan@reddit
This guy crossed legally. Had a drug charge from highschool over 20 years ago.

Iām sure answering this question will lead to a productive conversation
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Im just curious, theres tens of millions of people that have no issue crossing the boarder at any of the dozens of checkpoints every year, hell my friend in Canada drives over to the US for groceries every week since Walmart in the US is half the price of Canadian Superstore. Its a genuine question, whats the risk? They gonna siphon all that American gas out of your tank at the border or something?
jesusrambo@reddit
Iām sure it is a genuine question.
Seamus-Archer@reddit
The current political climate can be unnecessarily hostile to non citizens. I personally know a few people that have been affected even as legal residents.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Yeah but if you're going through a checkpoint legally you are legally in the US
Seamus-Archer@reddit
Just because itās legal doesnāt mean itās easy. As I said, I know multiple people that have been affected. Despite being legal residents and legally allowed to enter, theyāve faced hassles and delays to enter the US.
Any more discussion than that gets political but we are not living in friendly times when crossing the border regardless of what the law says.
andyr072@reddit
A lot has changed since Trump got back in Canadians crossing into the US are being much more heavily scrutinized and sometimes detained for hours at crossings these days. Yes even lily white ones.

Hear me out. They need a new Durango. I get it. Big motor means it's still going to sell. But goddamn shit is old.
Imagine the Cadillac vistiq styling with the hemi... Goddam. Call it the vistiq v blackwing....ill drop 105k for that 100%

X7 sucks donkey dick. I drive a lx570 now. Choose it over the gls and x7.

Who cares if itās old. Look at the new cars on the market right now. They suck.
TrafficOnTheTwos@reddit
This generation Durango has been around since fucking 2011. Shitbox
Lower_Kick268@reddit
So? Its a good SUV, why fix what isnt broken? Its had improvements since 2011, its not like its exactly the same
professorberrynibble@reddit
This subreddit hates everything. If they put it on a new platform with the Hurricane engine, this post would be all bitching about the lack of physical buttons, Dodge abandoning its base, etc.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Dodge knows how to sell their own cars, hence why theyre just riding out the platform as long as they possibly can. This subreddit whines about normal people cars all the time, if something isnt an advanced fancy luxury car like a BMW its not good enough.
daandriod@reddit
This sub only respects Toyota's, Honda's and most German cars. Everything else is steamy hot garbage and if you dare like a SUV or full size truck you are a big dumb dumb idiot and deserve to rot in hell.
Legitimately this sub just loves to complain and does not accurately represent the car market.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Agreed, this same subs also claims everyone wants base model manual pickups with a single cab and 4wd, when in reality they are alone asking for it
daandriod@reddit
Legitimately I do believe a big part of it is driven out of envy. I think a lot of them would actually want that 90k fully loaded truck, But because its out of their price range, Which don't get me wrong truck prices are insane, They have to demean these vehicles and the people who do buy them to protect their own ego for not being able to afford it.
FireflyOD@reddit
I noticed this has gotten worse over the years too, it used to not be this way. No wonder engagement in this sub is down.Ā
RAMBIGHORNY@reddit
They hate the cars their parents drive and are trying to be edgy and rebellious
leedle1234@reddit
An all new platform for an existing car is almost always the opposite of what an enthusiast should want, almost every time upon getting one the car ends up bigger, heavier, more complex and less connected feeling to drive. Aside from really expensive stuff, the only modern example I can think of that doesn't follow that trend is NC->ND Miata.
inlibrary_legsnumb@reddit
Apparently, It's only cool to continue selling old platforms if you toyota
Drzhivago138@reddit
Or if it's a straight-up commercial vehicle (see the Express thread).
Lower_Kick268@reddit
It makes reddit short circuit when they find out the Durango platform is fantastic too, anybody that's ever driven one with a v8 will attest to how good the platform is to drive.
trail-g62Bim@reddit
That is a lot less than I would have thought. They might sell some of these.
Formber@reddit
They should be by far the cheapest large SUVs. They've been building the same thing for a decade and a half.
Energy4Days@reddit
The Durango hasn't been redesigned since 2011Ā

Wild that they're bringing the 392 back to the Durango when everything else is going to the Hurricane. Dodge knows their audience though, nothing beats that V8 sound for a family hauler. Guess they aren't ready to let the Hemi die just yet.

Love these suvs. The escalade especially.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
The Escalade has nothing to do with a Durango lol
Ok_Combination_4482@reddit
Am aware. I just love suvs.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Should have never lost the 392, the Durango's have always been the cool SUV and the big gurgly engines make them sell.

I get it is a new trim level, but I get a kick out of calling something a "Launch Edition" on a generation of vehicle that dates back to 2011. Not to mention as R&T pointed out, functionally, this version of the Durango with this engine existed in the past in the form of the SRT 392, so this feels like a repackaging of a previously available product.

For 50k, thatās pretty nice.

Cool. More faster shitty drunk drivers.

I love the 6.4L and the price seems fair, but I don't even think Stellantis is attempting to have a defined path at this point
