Bad Women - Puskin
Relistened so so many times
Season 1 being elite
hurricanejules@reddit
Love Trapped. An addictive, really well produced 10-part true crime series investigating the bizarre story of a woman who falsely accused former "Bachelor" participant Clayton Echard of impregnating her. Features interviews with Echard and many others.
Mental_Background_53@reddit
The Blindboy Podcast.
Hard to explain what it’s about, but if you get it you’ll love it.
froststomper@reddit
I always say it’s about folklore, mental health, nature, but mostly inner dialogue. lol
Westy2691@reddit
Especially this for going to sleep to, very chill
BloodyCuts@reddit
Museum of Pop Culture is fun, but fairly UK-centric.
Radio Rental is good if you fancy listening to first hand experiences of terrifying situations.
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
Both of these are right up my street. Thank you very much!
roleyroo@reddit
Just did a search for decent podcasts and it dropped me to this thread. Would absolutely recommend anything Danny Robins- just listening to Radio Rental and it’s not a patch on his stuff as far as creepy goes
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
Threads a goldmine!
Thanks for the recs. Got loads to go on now 😄
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
Omg radio rental is soooo good.
In that same vein This Is Actually Happening. But, all the trigger warnings.
BloodyCuts@reddit
I haven’t heard of that podcast - thank you for the recommendation, literally now listening to it! :)
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
It is amazing but can be very insense!
Saltypeon@reddit
Darknet Diaries, there are some great episodes and a backlog to keep you busy for a good while.
ErasmosOrolo@reddit

BritWit11@reddit
The Monthly Mischief a new one coming. Trailer is out and heard the demo, sounds natural, funny and an easy listen. Come out every end of the month so not too taxing to keep up with.
BlueberrySuper505@reddit
HIGHLY recommend Love Trapped I could not believe the lengths the protagonist went to to trap her victims Very very engaging and excellent reporting
HumanBe-in@reddit
I've already bookmarked about 90% of these. I don't have enough listening time!
DesignerEntry2099@reddit
For travel, Destination Unlocked (https://www.destinationunlocked.com) - it's a conversational travel podcast with locals introducing their place
ConceptuallySupport@reddit
How do you feel about social observation conversations? lol
bikepackerWill@reddit
After the Theroux doco I’d be really interested to know the kinds of podcast women here would like men to listen more of. Doesn’t even need to be gender-based topics; just ones with good female hosts that give us a different world view would be interesting enough.
asciotto@reddit
ALEX BONES SHOW, insane, that has been described as a "spiritual successor to peak-era" Howard Stern
FoxesFan91@reddit
it's not "new" as it came out around lockdown but Banged Up is excellent. UK prisons thing
MiniGA@reddit
Simon whistler does a few good podcasts, you check them out!
smushs88@reddit
Real Survival Stories - got a mix of them from across the globe including quite a few with British people.
John Hopkins narrates which elevates it.
SquareMysterious3559@reddit
Sounds good
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
Ooohh this sounds really good, thank youn
ardcorewillneverdie@reddit
Definitely this. I've listened to all of them now, good for long drives

I enjoyed 'The Walkers', a recent 7-part series about the Salt Path controversy, by the journalist who broke the story.
WarmClassroom4997@reddit
You’d probably like Coaching In Session short, practical talks about mindset and personal growth that actually help you in real life.
Mr_Venom@reddit
Well There's Your Problem is a podcast about engineering disasters. With slides! The kind of podcast where if you hear a date, that's fine. A date with a time is bad. A date with an exact time is very bad and a date with a time including seconds means buckle your seatbelt.
Lace-maker@reddit
'Where there's a Will, there's a Dave'. Informative, enlightening and funny as hell.
Draught-Punk@reddit
Adam Buxton Poscast (celebrity guests - generally funnier )
The Louis Theroux Podcast (celebrity guests - generally more serious)
Let’s learn Everything (science topic and a random topic, two British hosts, one American)
Tom Scott’s Lateral (fun outside of the box questions with 3 guests)
Finn Vs History (for lovers of history who don’t care what actually happened.
Cars Rule Everything around me (CREAM - two hosts and videographer from the top dead centre YouTube channel)
AutoAlex Podcast (hosts of the AutoAlex cars channel, mainly talking about the things you don’t get to see in their videos and general car stuff)
ClarifyingMe@reddit
Have you listened to blindboy podcast?
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
Very old but have returned recently Answer Me This!
coleslawontoast@reddit
Help I sexted my boss if you want a laugh
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
I have learned things I never wished to learn 🫣😂
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
Help I Sexted my Boss. Skip the Friday episodes and go straight to the longer Tuesday ones.
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
Anything on BBC sounds is usually great.
gxb20@reddit
If you like history and dark humour ‘Fin vs History’ is a good one.
‘No such thing as a fish’ is ran by the QI elves and really tickles my tism
hairychris88@reddit
I went to one of their live shows a few years ago and it was splendid.
Poo_Poo_La_Foo@reddit
Yeah I've been to three or four, always excellent!
Suspicious_Gift_67@reddit
The rest is science can be good if you’re in the mood for it
east_cam@reddit
I really enjoy this podcast. Done by Hannah Fry and Michael Stevens (of VSauce fame).
Suspicious_Gift_67@reddit
Lowkey fancy Hannah
Jackomo@reddit
Why low key? She’s gorgeous and smart.
east_cam@reddit
More of a Michael guy myself 😂
Frothingdogscock@reddit
The Rest Is History.
bookishnatasha89@reddit
British Murders by Stuart Blues. The first true crime podcast I discovered and I like a few others but there's no-one quite like Stuart.
Shockingly enough his name is Stuart Blues and he covers British murders.
jkushh420@reddit
RSK
pieceoffriedgold@reddit
Cryptic, init?
Jumper-Man@reddit
Did that just go out?
Hungry_Living766@reddit
Socially distant sports bar, even if you’re not into sports or socially distant anymore.
Oh what a time - easily digestible history and comedy
Adam Buxton podcast - great interviews with diverse guests - often the least known guests are the most interesting
sazzer22@reddit
Alan partridge from the oasthouse, may not be a "podcast" in the traditional sense but it's hilarious
Marshmallowmind2@reddit
I enjoyed podcast with ping pong guy, Robbie Savage and Freddie Flintoff during covid time. Ping pong guy is really clever and they talked very deeply about psychology, team dynamics, experiences and there was some humor. Probably best podcast I've listened. Shame it's finished. Simon syed I think his name was. Had loads of books out of psychology
Jaypringg@reddit
Fools Gold and the missing Madonna on bbc Sounds are both really good. Regional accents on podcasts always welcome.
Jumper-Man@reddit
Ghost Story by Tristan Redman is as pretty interesting podcast, about a murder in his wife’s family and unearths some family secrets and causes a bit of a rift with his extended family. A British podcast, limited number of episodes.
If you never listened to the first season / series of Serial, that was pretty interesting. However it is American.
Desert island discs has a massive back catalogue and there are tons of good listens in there. Maya Angelou was interesting, Ian Wrights was good, David Nott was very interesting, I’d never heard of him, but it was fascinating as he was a war time surgeon. Suprisingly Danny Dyers was pretty interesting, never been a fan but thought he come across open and honest. There are too many to mention.
YourTwenties@reddit
The Romesh Ranganathan Show has been amazing this year, huge guests, always funny - but even better are the episodes with his Mum!
EndlessRiver-@reddit
I’ve been really enjoying the Louis Theroux podcast recently. Even when I don’t know who the person is that he’s interviewing, Louis manages to make it interesting and you find out little things about him as well which I really enjoy.
Also Late Bloomers, for all your neurodivergent needs!
JarJarBinksSucks@reddit
I love “we could be weirdos” really interesting interviews. Just good fun. Also love “answer me this”
BrownBoyCoy@reddit
If you like football or even a passing interest, James and Flav for now is my regular
Carbonatic@reddit
Let's Learn Everything! No Such Thing as a Fish.
Familiarsophie@reddit
The two podcasts I probably listen to the most!
reecelitchy14@reddit
Blindboy podcast, amazing strange deep dives into some really wild and bizarre topics, some fabulous guests too. Basically like Joe Rogan if he wasn't a lunatic
hjaltlandsincethe80s@reddit
British Scandal is good, particularly enjoyed the ones on that canoe guy John Darwin and Nick Leeson. Usually each is a three part series so you get a lot of information. Alice Levine (sp?) and Matt Ford are funny together too. I also like Origin Story which is two British journalists and writers discussing how different words and terms came about. Their episode on conspiracy theories is super interesting!
Pockysocks@reddit
Triforce! podcast if you want stupid banter.
YorkshireFudding@reddit
Football Clichés
The Ricky Gervais Show podcast, or the superior XFM radio version.
weekes_01@reddit
I like the Red Shirt Cinema Club podcast. It started with the Star Trek movies but has since moved on. They announce the movies in advance so you have a chance to watch over the weekend before they release the episode on a Monday.
christraverse@reddit
Cinema Swirl is great, a guy who has seen a lot of films shows his friend who hasn’t seen a lot of films, a film. And he really hasn’t seen a lot of films.
PerkyMcPerkface@reddit
I only listen to one music podcast, two promoters one pod, and it's very good. It's the guy who runs damnation festival alongside the guy who does 2000 trees and arctangent festivals so on the heavier side of music but definitely great insight into organising festivals
christraverse@reddit
2 promoters 1 pod is fantastic if you have even a passing interest in how festivals run
I-Am-The-Warlus@reddit
Dead Meat Podcast - husband & wife talking about Horror films
OSW Review - Irish Old School wrestling video podcast however has branch out to films; The Hobbit, Scott Pilgrim v The World
Mission-Sound9493@reddit
Big fan of Truly Criminal. Basically a documentary every week and you can choose between the video or podcasts versions.
dangermouse13@reddit
The Skeptic Guide to the Universe
Trequartista7777@reddit
Unexplained with Richard Maclean Smith is always a good listen, it's British, and he's covered a whole load of stuff from true crime to spooky things. I also adore The Last Podcast on the Left, definitely not British, but the lads have covered everything from true crime to people shoving things up their bums , it's really funny at times, also quite informative at times too
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
Last podcast on left is brilliant! Have you listened to Dan Cumins Time Suck? Similar vain
Trequartista7777@reddit
It's funny you mention that, I used to listen to it regularly along with the other podcast he did with his wife, Scared to Death , I ended up subscribing to so many podcasts I fell well behind. Appreciate the reminder, I'm going to have to go back to Time Suck at the very minimum 😁
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
Ou I never knew he did one with his wife! Will check that out.
bcs00002@reddit
Wrestleme for the laughs, Rest is History for the facts and laughs.
Gibber_jab@reddit
Lions lead by donkeys, behind the bastards, last podcast on the left and redhanded. Redhanded is British the others are American, all of true crime/comedy except Lions lead by donkeys which is military history/comedy.
thekittysays@reddit
Came to recommend Behind the Bastards as well.
Arf234@reddit
Triforce podcast
mondo_generator@reddit
I'm currently working my way through the Joey and Josh true crime podcast. They go over some of the most famous UK cases. They're just two regular guys so their delivery is very down to earth and funny.
KeepOnTrippinOn@reddit
If you like The Sopranos them Talking Sopranos is a must listen.
If you like football then I'd highly recommend Undr the Cosh.
ilaidonedown@reddit
Interviews:
RHLSTP - Richard Herring interviews a guest each week, about half are comedians. He's been going for 15+ years, so have a look through for any guest you know.
Off Menu - in case you haven't already listened...
Stuart Goldsmith - The Comedian's Comedian - great if you like comedy, give it a miss if you don't
History:
Shite Talk - an Irish History Podcast - run by two Irish comedians, similar vein to Behind the Bastards.
Betwixt The Sheets - history of sex, tackling one topic a week (was there BDSM in the Middle Ages? When was the first boob job?)
Quiz / General Knowledge:
Lateral - 4 questions per week where you have to work out the answer
No Such Thing As A Fish / Lunchbox Envy / Quite A Good Sport - all QI elves podcasts
Escape This Podcast - it's an escape room in a podcast. You can solve along at home or listen to the celebrity guests work it out.
Citation Needed - General Knowledge on a specific person / topic of the week.
ardcorewillneverdie@reddit
The rest is classified is a bit variable but usually pretty good, especially their multi-part ones covering one particular story.
The Bugle is a classic, dropped off a bit after John Oliver left but still worth a listen. There's an archive of the old ones you can find with a quick Google which is where the gold is, if you don't mind listening to satire of the news from 15 years ago.
snarfalicious420@reddit
The beef and dairy network podcast is the number one podcast for those involved or just interested in the production of beef animals and dairy herds
ginbandit@reddit
The Infinite Monkey Cage on BBC Sounds, led by Robert Ince and Prof. Brian Cox. They have a couple of subject matter experts and a comedian and talk about a topic, like "Cosmic Dust", "The Science of Baby Making" or "How to Commit The Perfect Murder".
jptoc@reddit
Elis & John
BloodyCuts@reddit
… and then after that Three Bean Salad.
snarfalicious420@reddit
You can't sit on your own arse. I recommend making the pilgrimage to the soup dragon café for the sweet sweet Pompidou discount.
BloodyCuts@reddit
😂😂😂
MaxBulla@reddit
The ongoing history of new music. Neither new nor UK based, but tons of interesting episodes.
The Rest is classified.... ex-Spook and a journalist in the field look at current and past world events from an intelligence perspective.
madeonworkstime@reddit
I'm working my way through Remember The Game. I think on Spotify it's called Member the Game. It's a Canadian guy talking about and something playing an old game, sometimes with guests. Can be quite funny, his episode about ECCO the Dolphin had me in stitches.
Badgersbutthole@reddit
Short history and real dictators are two I’m enjoying right now. Made by the same production company. In our time is also good.
ceeearan@reddit
No Such Thing as a Fish is my go-to when I'm doing DIY. Wanging On is relatively new and an easy listen that gets better as it goes on.
RuachReader@reddit
Within Readon with Alex O Connor
iffyClyro@reddit
The entire “the rest is…” is pretty decent. Although I don’t bother with the football one.
ceeearan@reddit
The rest is science doesn't seem like something that I'd be all that interested in, but everytime it pops up on my TikTok I find it really good, so I'm going to try it.
tido2020@reddit
Accidentally wrote this as a main comment.
The news agents is great, except for when they have a guest on, and the whole show becomes about that persons book or show.
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
Yeah I do enjoy the politics and football one tbh. I knew there was a history one but never listened, there's a few more isn't there? Never realised that! Thank you
iffyClyro@reddit
The rest is entertainment is genuinely really interesting.
CrabNebula_@reddit
Three Bean Salad
ActionBirbie@reddit
"Deep Cover" - Interesting stories about people who have led double lives.
"Hacker History" - Stories and interviews with various figures in the history of tech and computer hacking.
"Hunting warhead" - True crime about an investigation on the dark web.
Bbew_Mot@reddit
Behind the Bastards: all about the worst people in history such as dictators and cult leaders.
The Urbanist Agenda: urbanism by Jason from the YouTube channel, Not Just Bikes.
Uncanny: a BBC podcast mainly about ghosts and UFOs.
metal0121@reddit
This is a complete random, but I stumbled upon a recent one called the peripigs. It's 2 women in their 40s talking about perimenapause in their lives, but with some humour.
I don't know how I've ended up listening to it, as I am a) a man and b) not perimenapausal 😄 but it has been quite entertaining so far
dopeyroo@reddit
Murder Mile is excellent for true crime, it's mostly crimes you won't have heard of from London (although he's done a handful of well known ones) and he does all his research using the original case files at the national archives, so it's insanely detailed.
massie_le@reddit
Ezra Klein show Adam Buxton
inbruges99@reddit
My current favourite is Shift F1, it is a formula 1 podcast so if you have no interest in that then maybe it’s not for you, but if you think you’d like to get into it they do a preseason primer episode where they explain the sport.
More general suggestions are the Rest is History, or We have ways of making you talk (ww2)
Comedy wise I’d recommend three bean salad or Wolf and Owl
sheffieldpud@reddit (OP)
We have ways of making you talk sounds brilliant! Didn't realise Al Murray was still going. Will give that a try, thank you.
inbruges99@reddit
It’s really great, I hope you enjoy!
