With slow demand for Temerario, much lower demand for Urus SE and natural decline of the Revuelto... i think 2026 will be a reality check
cookingboy@reddit
Is the demand low for the Temerario? Why is that? Because it’s a hybrid?
GVIrish@reddit
Waaaayyyt more expensive than the Huracan, doesn't sound nearly as good as the V10, very heavy hybrid.
I think Lamborghini figured that they could move the Temerario upmarket and not lose customers because people were paying markups on the Huracan towards the back half of its run. But the white hot post-Covid market is gone and they've now taken the car out of the junior supercar price range while removing one of the key selling points of the old car.
Impossibrewww@reddit
Probably because it costs what an Aventador used to cost and it's a muted V8 hybrid instead of the screaming V10.
peopeopeopeo10@reddit
It's no longer a "baby Lambo", they overdid it
Nero_Wolff@reddit
With that market being richer than ever, does it really matter? 296 isnt cheap and is overpowered as well, but its held in high regard
strongmanass@reddit
Depends on what you mean by "that market." People new to the brand who are flush with cash? Probably not. But I imagine it's hard to convince recent Huracán buyers to trade their N/A V10 for a twin turbo V8 hybrid that costs 55% more even if it is faster.
Nero_Wolff@reddit
Lets be honest, many Lamborghini customers like the cars for the status and style. To a pure petrolhead, its likely that the huracan is more appealing, but many customers buy those cars for reasons beyond liking how the drive or how the engine sounds and the simple fast that the new car is the “new one” will be enough
Historical_Lynx_2674@reddit
Nope. Rich getting richer, their market only grows
Medical-Gate-9978@reddit
Do you have a source for Temerario demand being low?
Location_Born@reddit
‘Trust me bro’
itsamemarioscousin@reddit
That margin of 24% is nearly 3x as high as Bentleys was last year (8.9%), and many many times more than Porsche's barely breaking even.
gimpwiz@reddit
Net margins of 24% is quite solid. Most car companies would be happy to get 24% gross margins, and can't even dream about that much net.
The Urus must really be printing money.
Anchor_Aways@reddit (OP)
Maybe I'm basic, but the Urus is a dream car for me to Daily.
Energy4Days@reddit
It's a dream for you because it's what you see on social media equating with "success"
aponderingpanda@reddit
Can you explain why? I don't really see the appeal of the Urus.
Anchor_Aways@reddit (OP)
Well part of it comes down to whether you like SUV's and personal taste in design. I like the elevated ride height and a nimble SUV with power can be a fun drive. I've seen Urus in person and they have a ton of standout presence & character that I like, especially in relation to regular Lambos (which I think can look like drink coaster's on steroids). Granted, I've never gotten behind the wheel of one yet. Though I have tried a Macan (I found to be a blah ride) and a Optiq which I adored.
mydoortotheworld@reddit
I’ve driven one. And I’ve driven an Aventador. I’d take the Aventador every day of the week. Urus didn’t have that X factor. Just kind of felt like an SUV for people who just want to flex.
Future_Goat5665@reddit
The Aventador is the worst driving exotic I've ever driven, and it's not close. It's big, and it drives big (you can't easily feel the car's dimensions), and the single clutch is only happy at wide open throttle.
The Urus can at least be driven in a chill or sporty manner.
Martbern@reddit
I have a friend who has one, and while it is obviously a cool car, you'll realize that it would be nothing without its badge. That isn't really true for the Huracan, which is an extreme experience from the moment you sit in the car. You are constantly reminded that you are in something special.
I just don't get that feeling in the Urus. In that case, I'd rather have a Panamera Turbo S, a Cayenne Turbo GT or an RSQ8.
Wsswaas@reddit
If I may ask, why not Audi RSQ8? same underbody even the engine
Anchor_Aways@reddit (OP)
Boring design, lack of flare, less power. I'd rather just go for BMW/Mercedes at that level. For the price point a lot of Audis lack sizzle to me.
hammertanker@reddit
It’s not a Lambo
purz@reddit
Ya I don’t get it in that price bracket. In the lower price bracket I get it as a compromise. As it’s much harder to make sports cars work especially if you live some where with winter.
But if I’ve got Lambo money really fast SUVs are prolly completely off my radar.
narwhal_breeder@reddit
For people who care more about what a car represents than what it is, its split 50/50 as a dream car with the G63.
Avedas@reddit
For that demographic I think the G63 looks much better and is far more iconic. Although it's also a lot more common, and it's not that distinguishable from the G350/500s everywhere.
dqrules11@reddit
The flashiest midsize suv you can buy that's also fast
Avedas@reddit
Yet also not being a very flashy Lamborghini. I can see why some people would like them, but I personally feel it's missing the point of owning a Lambo.
CaptSlow49@reddit
And signals “I have no class” to the right people
strongmanass@reddit
Who are "the right people?" And why should anyone care? People should enjoy what they want and not gaf what people think about "taste" and "class" as long as they're not hurting anyone. I think the Urus is garish but people are entitled to like it and they should buy it if they want. If others don't like it they can look away.
seeasea@reddit
As opposed to the demure and classy revuelto?
Armored_Guardian@reddit
That’s a car that knows what it’s about.
Quick_Bet5660@reddit
Try to sit in one. I was shocked by the interior quality for its price. But the heart wants what it wants I suppose. I hope you get your Urus one day.
Eraser92@reddit
I don’t understand how Porsche are just breaking even. They make the same cars every year and the prices are insane. Is it some creative accounting?
pridetwo@reddit
Porsche are declaring a loss on their EV R&D asset on their books. It's just spreadsheet money because they had been documenting their EV development expenditures into an asset on their balance sheet over the years and wrote a bunch down all at once. Likely timed it to a year they'd know Lambo was going to post a bunch of profits so it offsets some of that profit when it comes to paying income tax for VAG overall
PRSArchon@reddit
And its always best to take a loss in 1 year and then be done with it, instead of spreading it over many years
PRSArchon@reddit
Yes, a one time r&d write off
Sun_Aria@reddit
Porsche's profitability decline "mainly due to lower sales volumes attributable to the continuously challenging market situation in China, additional expenses connected with the realignment of the product strategy and battery activities, the increased impact of development activities on earnings, US import tariffs and higher material costs."
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
China is clearly reason why Porsche and Bentley profits down. For Lambo, China isn't really their main market.
itsamemarioscousin@reddit
Plus a one-off payment of a billion Euro to Audi to buy into the PPC platform to make an unplanned ICE Macan and a next gen ICE Cayenne.
gosukhaos@reddit
Tariffs of course and preparation for the EV but at least there's a VAG brand that's doing well
NotRustyShackleford_@reddit
I'm a fan of VAG too
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
We feel poor now.
DragonfruitNo2010@reddit
That margin is insane. Lamborghini really crushed it compared to Bentley and Porsche shows just how strong their market demand is right now.
