What moments have made you aware of your own prejudice?

Yesterday a colleague was telling me about his friend who is a Physics professor and half way through the conversation I realised the prof was female, whereas I had been assuming they were male. Fortunately no faux pas was made, but it made me realise that - despite considering myself fairly progressive - I am still susceptible to age-old stereotypes.
