Wife and I have the day off Monday and looking for something fun to do during the day. Any recommendations (London)?

TLDR; I’ve started every paragraph with a place. Onion Garden! First things first, set off to a good start by having a coffee, tea (or whatever you like) and a slice of cake or muffin for dessert after your breakfast. Anything after that will be better for it. SW1E 6AB Japan House in Kensington, they have a Hyakkō exhibition which I’m gagging to go see myself. Entry is free but book tickets on their site (they’ve let us in without tickets before too) W8 5SA The Barbican is a great place to while away a couple of hours. My wife and I walked about deciding where we’d like an apartment if we had the means. Then in the gift shop they have an absolutely fantastic book about living at the Barbican with pictures inside a bunch of different apartments. You’d don’t have to buy it, just have a flick through in-store to give yourself an idea of what the different gaffs look like. EC2Y 8DS. Eataly is close by, an Italian treasure trove with restaurants for lunch. EC 3YD But…. Depending on where you are (the underground is amazing by the way, you can any of these places in one day if want) some of our favourite lunch spots are: Phat Phuc SW3 6NT (Laksa is unreal) Noble Rot (love lambs conduit but other locations too) WC1N 3NB BAO Soho W1F 9AS (and other locations, prawn shia song) Cavita W1U 2RZ (Margaritas are out of the top drawer) Amazing chef! Koka SW6 1NL (the sea bass and octopus here are like I’ve never had before. This is an absolutely fantastic little place) And if you really want to splash out, a bunch of Michelin restaurants have lunch specials. We went for a £65pp lunch at Pollen Street Social and it was well worth the (granted, lots of) money in the end. Gordon’s wine bar has an outside section if the weather is playing game but a fanatic inside section that can easily chew away the hours. Really affordable actually and the cheese boards are delicious. Uber boats are a great way to get up or down the Thames with views of London from the water. There are piers all along the river from Putney to Greenwich. Buy snacks at a Tesco or Sainsbury’s for the trip but they do have (expensive) snack bars on board too. Most museums and galleries are free entry. There are markets everywhere; Spitalfields, Brixton, Tooting, Greenwich but Borough is closed on Mondays.
