Main appeal is that it's crazy lightweight. My 16" with 4.5-22x50 scope, bipod, and suppressor weighs in less than 9lbs. Downside is it kicks like a mule suppressed and the adjustable gas block only has 2 usable settings. Also I had to send mine back for warranty after the first range trip because it couldn't shoot 5 rounds in a row without a malfunction, but it has been flawless for about 600 rounds since getting it back from Ruger.

I like mine. Lightweight and low recoil, shout out to the brake. Feeds 25 rd pmags reliably (I load 24).
This was all after ensuring I did the reccomended break in period (100 to 200 rounds on gas setting 3). I don't own a supressor. I run thr stock trigger, buffer, and spring.
Apparently the early ones had issues but I haven't had any post break in. Accepts AR15 lower parts.

If you already have a reliable AR-10, sure. Get this as a project gun and see if you like the small frame. But it's not going to be as upgradeable as a standard commercial spec -10 and it'll probably need a little work

Short story no, get a different AR10. Long story maybe yes? They’re being discontinued but that might be because they’re shifting to the Anderson factory they bought and will come back with a different name. Also they had problems with the gas block(basically the first ones were not bored out enough). Most people buy a new gas block with more adjustments. Hop went through hell with his. My buddy has a 20inch newer one but never runs it suppressed and keeps the factory break on it which is great for recoil but terrible for anyone next to you at a range. It’s dumb light but if you keep running the gas on the break in setting of 3 forever it will apparently damage the gun. I would wait and see what Ruger does with these and maybe get one if they bring it back in the future with some changes.

My understanding is that they were offering a replacement for the gas block at one time, and newer guns were made with the revised part. I bought mine about a year after it came out, and haven't experienced any gas related shenanigans. It does really hate the Saltech (Swiss AA) ammo though. That stuff won't run on any setting, suppressed or not. Since I only bought a single box of it, I never bothered digging into it, just stuck with the Federal and S&B which have been fine.

Ruger claimed they may come out with a similar product that would be produced in their Anderson factory. Hopefully the 2.0 version eliminates all the issue that some owners have reported over the years.
