I remember when I worked at a warehouse and the forklift operators would talk shit. "How hard is it to back up a truck" blah blah. Well, turns out kinda hard especially when you're new.

What’s worse is the super truckers getting pissed off when they see someone struggling to back because they’re having to wait on them. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing a super trucker getting pissed off at a new guy and I get out to talk to the new guy to slow them down even more.

Some mfs at Walmart Neighborhood Market were talking shit after I struggled to back at their store. I was in training, it was raining, and you had to back in partially using the street. I had to hold my tongue but I wanted to curse them out.

when i was door swinging i would just be super nitpicky about how they loaded it if they said anything to me, and bring it back five or six times insisting they rework the whole thing. hourly pay is a blessing.

Hah. If I ever saw someone talking shit I’d get out and tell em to have a go. I’m pretty good at backing up trucks now but, if you threw me into an older long nose Pete with a long wheel base and pulling a 53 footer then told me to back it into a tight dock I guarantee you I wouldn’t one shot it.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Just one? Normally they go get the whole building to watch you struggle hoping you hit something for great content

Par for the course. Get over it and look cool into the easy one. Our job is not to look cool backing in. It is 100 percent not to fuck shit up ....

Backing in without hitting anything is cool. Getting out and looking is cool. If i see someone at Loves backing in and see them GOAL just to double check, i got zero issues sharing the road with em. That’s way more cool than ripping a bumper off 🤣

One time I finished a shitty back and the warehouse worker told me I was supposed to dock on the other side of the building and it was an even worse setup. When I finished docking at the other spot and found the worker he said “Oh man, I was just joking about you needing to move.” Wtf man, what a stupid joke.

Death penalty imo.

It wasn't even a tight dock, but I had to dock twice because the first place I went were a bunch of lazy bones who didn't want to work so they told me to go to the other side of the building.

I wish all truckers would unionize ... we'd be a force in politics if we did ... better pay, better hours ... just better for all of us not just some of us.

You're decades too late where that would matter.

I'm independent but I still think folks that bash unions are idiots. They increase the rates for the rest of the industry. It's not for everyone, though.

Considering a good chunk can’t understand English in any capacity, sounds like a tall order

you realize part of the motivation of importing cheap labor from different cultures is because people from different groups are less likely to band together and form unions or any kind of consensus right

That’s why they have down so much work to prevent it. There are hundreds of new cdls every week. So much of the work force could just walk away, they would blame a driver shortage and fill thousands of cdls in a month. Meanwhile prices would just increase as supply lowers and then it would stay like that a long while.

Same hours, same job but Ward pays 35 dollars an hour compared to my brothers at FedEx Express at 28 dollars an hour ...
