Hi guys, I’m new here! Long story short: I wanna buy a bike to ride during the Canadian summer. I’d like to buy a bike that I can ride with AND withOUT the electrical assist. I don’t need anything fancy neither super fast. Oh, a light bike and not that expensive!
Thanks guys!

Do not buy from Story Bikes - it is a fraudulent company. At 240Km, my battery defaulted. I thought a simple call to the company would quickly resolve the issue. The only contact point on their website is a an email address. I wrote twice before I rec'd the response, "Have sent to our IT team." Nothing since then despite repeated emails. I had to do some internet snooping to get a phone number and address. I've called and left msgs and have written them. It's going on two months of SILENCE!
It didn't take long to understand something was off. I went to BBB and saw a complaint filed in 2/26 that mirrored my experience exactly (F rating on BBB). This individuals bike was still under warranty and still no response from company despite months of efforting.
There are no replacement batteries offered for sale on their website!!
I was duped, I admit, by their claim of donating one bike for every one purchased and by the picture of Oprah riding one of their bikes.
From a review website:
What to verify before you hit “buy”
Every frank Story Bikes review should end with due diligence. Here’s yours:

Lightness is one of the most expensive features of a bike, sadly.

Consider the Trek FX+ 2 or something similar. 250 W rear hub drive, torque controlled, no throttle, pedal assist only, 250 Wh integrated battery, 50 km / 2 h range, fully equipped (fenders, rack, lightning), nothing fancy, looks like a normal bike, 18 kg weight without lock, reasonably priced.
The charger could be faster. It takes 2 h charging for 1 h riding.
