Allegedly this is shooter of the F-35 according to some internet sleuths
Key-Needleworker-702@reddit
what's the truck model?
looks pretty cute
damngoodengineer@reddit
Turkar Bukan, Turkish 4WD light truck. Powered by a 2.3 liter IVECO F1A. Made by Hisarlar, a tractor cabin and farm equipment maker in Eskişehir.
youtheotube2@reddit
Good old turkey, the most questionable NATO member
DukeOfBattleRifles@reddit
First of all, NATO is not a military allience against Iran. Second, most French and German carmakers were also selling motor vehicles to Iran pre 2018 so whats your point?
youtheotube2@reddit
Why would NATO not be an alliance against Iran? Iran has not been aligned with NATO since the Shah fell, as I’m sure you know.
Were these French and German vehicles sold to Iran so they could become military vehicles? No, but the Turkish ones were.
What’s hateful and racist about what I’m saying? Turkey has a history of not being on the same page as the rest of NATO
-Kares-@reddit
Dude, France was literally selling military equipment to Russia after the invasion of Crimea. While we were arming Ukraine against Russia. You don't even care when Europeans do such things, but treat Turkey like shit.
This is a truck, not a weapon. We couldn't know for what purpose Iran was gonna use it.
DukeOfBattleRifles@reddit
Because it is an alliance against USSR and its succesor state Russia.
Iran has never been aligned with NATO pre or post Shah.
Yes they were. In fact French carmakers licensed their vehicles to Iranian government owned corporations and built car factories in Iran.
Turkey is on the same page as rest of NATO. Just like rest of NATO states Turkey trades non-sanctioned goods with Iran.
youtheotube2@reddit
Then why did a NATO coalition deploy to Iraq in 2003? If according to you NATO is strictly to deter Russia.
We famously sold the Shah fighter jets and other military hardware.
Government service is not the same as military service. Nobody cares that Iranian postal inspectors are driving around in Renault hatchbacks. We do care that Turkish trucks are being turned into missile launchers that end up shooting down F-35s.
DukeOfBattleRifles@reddit
They didn't. In 2003, NATO was not a formal combatant in the invasion of Iraq. That was conducted by the coalition of the willing which was made up of 49 countries. Only half of those countries were NATO countries.
Selling weapons to a country doesn't always mean you are aligned. NATO military hardware was also sold to Iraq during the 70s and 80s.
Dismissing French carmakers involvement in Iran as just government service is delusional. Vehicles licensed by France were used by the IRGC to massacre peaceful protesters. Your comparison between "postal inspectors" and F35 killing trucks is meaningless: both show how state enabled technology transfers can empower a government to carry out violence it otherwise couldn’t. France officially collaborated with Iranian state, Turkey sold trucks to Iranian civilians which the government bought later. Yet your comment is critical of Turkey. You are biased asf.
youtheotube2@reddit
The only time article 5 has ever been invoked was for the invasion of Iraq. You can’t say it wasn’t a NATO coalition. NATO exists to defend the interests of North America and Europe. The “enemy” is whoever it needs to be.
Yes it does. If we’re selling weapons to a country, we share interests in some way.
That’s a stretch.
If you want to say that the difference between government officials driving cars around to do their job and the military using trucks as missile launchers in a war is meaningless, go right ahead.
So you think Turkey deserves no criticism at all? The country we decided to not trust with F-35s because they went and bought missiles from Russia?
DukeOfBattleRifles@reddit
The only time article 5 has ever been invoked was for the invasion of Afghanistan and that was because a NATO member was attacked.
NATO countries also sold small arms to Russia in 2010s. Is Russia a NATO ally then?
Its facts. Check the videos.
Their job is to detain and massacre innovent civilians during a civil unrest. If thats not a conflict i don't know what is.
We are talking about Iran you are distorting the topic. But you don't know what you are talking about. Greece also bought air defence systems and ships from Russia. Bulgaria and Slovakia also bought air defence systems from Russia. UK and Germany sold small arms to Russia. France sold helicopters to Russia.
youtheotube2@reddit
Which disproves your point that the only purpose of NATO is opposing Russia. If NATO can be mobilized against Iraq and Afghanistan then it can be mobilized against many other countries.
In some circumstances, yes. You’re the one who said that goes against the purpose of NATO, not me.
I’m trying to get you to agree that Turkey is deserving of criticism. Which was my initial point. If anything you’re the one distorting the topic.
Isn’t really relevant to my point
jnievele@reddit
Not to mention the USA selling missiles to Iran... Of course Oliver North doesn't want people to remember that...
1384d4ra@reddit
Huh, i had never heard of Turkar before, interesting. Apparently they only built the bukan for a few years in the early 2010s and then discontinued it because nobody bought it. Which is weird, considering the azaraksh was unveiled in 2025
I do wonder how it ended up there? perhaps some were sold to civillian buyers in iran during the nuclear deal period, and then were bought second hand by the army or irgc or whatever? Either way, very strange
damngoodengineer@reddit
i actually don't know how could Bukans found their way to Iran, so strange situation for us too.
ty944@reddit
If sold off due to no one buying maybe a wholesaler resolve a large inventory to Iran?

How shitty can it be when it hit an F-35
Lameador@reddit
Looks cheap Cheap enough so that they can have a lot of them
Jumpy-Spread6329@reddit
The most plausible one, short range= less reaction time for F 35, electro optical targeting which means passive , difficult to detect. Very road mobile. Limited western profile on this iranian missile unlike iranian russian missile system which means limited threat library on the F 35 electronic warfare system.
NewManufacturer6670@reddit
This, It seems most people forget radar isn’t the only way to track and engage aerial targets.
Jumpy-Spread6329@reddit
Yep, looks like US starting to get too comfortable in the air if they can get hit with this.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
We don’t even know what happened so speculation isn’t really useful
rly_weird_guy@reddit
We know it was locked by IRST, that it didn't try evasive maneuver nor deploy countermeasures.
Soonerpalmetto88@reddit
Stealth missile? Something the pilot couldn't see? Or do you think they froze in the moment?
CyberSoldat21@reddit
We don’t know though. That video has yet to be confirmed to even be true so I take that with a grain of salt. I don’t believe things I see online or recite them as factual until it’s been proven true or false. It’s too easy for misinformation to spread on the internet and with AI it makes it easier to spread that to be more convincing.
AdrianV125@reddit
Will paste a comment I already made:
How so? What's your proof.
It is in line with every video released by the Iranian and Houthies when they down drones, same interface, same targeting reticle.
CENTOM confirmed it was hit...
In what way would posting a fake video make sense? Do you think they just hit a plane and then made a fake video of a real video they had from the guidance feed of the missile? just for what? To mess with you?
Redditors are so fucking delusional.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
I haven’t seen CENTCOM confirm what caused the damage. All CENTCOM confirmed was the plane made an emergency landing and that the pilot was safe. It’s all speculation that it was hit by a missile but there’s no proof outside of an unverified video that hasn’t been confirmed to be real or fake. So no one here can claim it was hit.
AWildNome@reddit
It was confirmed pilot took shrapnel wounds.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
That was initial reports. Haven’t seen anything further confirmed as of yet.
AWildNome@reddit
Confirmed today actually.
https://xcancel.com/gbrumfiel/status/2034972525222838351#m
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Still relying on that video clip that was not confirmed to be real or fake I see? What you linked is what we saw like from the beginning of this whole situation. So no your link doesn’t prove anything actually and nothing has been confirmed thus far.
AWildNome@reddit
No? The confirmation is NPR reporting the pilot has shrapnel wounds.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Nothing in your link you posted proves anything… that’s what I’m trying to tell you.
AWildNome@reddit
What exactly is your standard of proof?
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Again… and please learn to read because this is embarrassing for yourself but your link doesn’t prove anything…
US CENTCOM would have to come out and say “yes this video is real” or “no this video is fake and this is what happened to our plane” it’s not difficult my friend.
AWildNome@reddit
Ok, so your standard of proof is an impossibility, got it. You’ll continue to live in that fantasy world forever then.
boukm3n@reddit
he's a disinfo agent...mostly one of them from that small country that started this whole thing. they're all over reddit.
iwannaberockstar@reddit
...Vatican...?
AdrianV125@reddit
Na bro it's useless to discuss with this guy he's clearly a bot, or worst a delusional American.
The only proof he will accept is a photo from the US DoW of the plane. As there is no such thing as wartime censorship and the US would admit right away that the last generation jet was struck by a cold war-era optic-guided missile.
MessaBombadWarrior@reddit
You are arguing with a maniac
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Maniac is an insult to actual maniacs. He’s calling me delusional yet he believes one CNN article and thinks it’s true. The irony is beautiful.
AdrianV125@reddit
Hahahahahahahaha the cope is so fucking real. I won't even lose the time arguing with you.
We have CNN confirming the hit.
We have a video which is in line with how Iranian SHORADs feed are.
CENTOM (or better the spokesperson for CENTCOM) confirmed the emergency landing (maybe the pilot needed to piss very urgently).
There is more proof confirming the hit than there is disproving it... No amount of cope will change it.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
CNN confirming based on what evidence exactly? Unverified footage?
AdrianV125@reddit
Naaa they claim internal sources... The video was released by the IRGC and CNN doesn't even mentions it in the article, making the claim even more believable (we have two non interacting sources claim the same thing).
Please for the love of god learn how to read articles it's in the first line: "A US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at US air base in the Middle East after it was struck by what is believed to be Iranian fire, according to two sources familiar with the matter."
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Those articles don’t prove shit. They’re articles reporting a story… please learn what an article is my friend.
I’m sorry you think refusing to accept unverified information is somehow considered “coping” and you’re more than welcome to prove me wrong. I’ll wait
AdrianV125@reddit
What do article do? Are you slow? What does a journalist do? They reports on facts, which are stories. This is a breaking news article, do you know what it is?
Do you think that journalist don't use undisclosed sources? Again it seem you don't understand how journalism work. Not every piece is a full on investigation piece.
I think you believe this article is the same as an "opinion piece" which is a totally different thing.
And I find it funny how you totally glossed over the fact that CNN didn't report on the video which surficed later making the story more believable. Again if two or more unrelated sources claim a thing (or in this case one shows the thing), maybe just maybe it is happened.
But ok bud you're right everything is going according to plan.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Breaking news based on what verified sources though? You have failed to prove your point here or provide this new evidence that apparently exists. I’m still waiting for you to show me something.
AdrianV125@reddit
Why aren't you addressing the video not cited in the article part? Where did I claim there was "new evidence"? I claimed the evidence we had, is enough to make the informed guess that I'm fact the F-35 was hit.
The verified sources is fucking CNN, what do you want more? That's why we have journalists and news sources which have guidelines to ensure they report truthfuly.
Do you think that the US will take a picture of the plain and show it to us? Are you stupid? I'm really asking you, what kind of "proof" are you looking for?
We have a trusted news agency claiming they have two sources affirming it was a hit. We have a video feed (which funnily enough you weren't able to point out a single indicator of it being fake). And we have CENTCOM confirming that a F-35 sustained damage and had to do an emergency landing.
Again if you aren't able to connect the dots it's a problem, not mine.
At this point I'm starting to believe you are either an LLM bot or very very slow...
That said Im talking in circles and am getting tired repeating the same stuff. Have a nice one, and remember YOU ARE WINNING EVERYTHING IS ALL RIGHT.
RogerianBrowsing@reddit
It isn’t coincidental that Israel added an extra 300 million dollars to their hasbara budget for 2026. What’s even crazier is that they’re still not paying all the companies they contract to do it.
The end result is a buttload of low intellect soulless propagandist accounts pushing narratives.
MessaBombadWarrior@reddit
That video is definitely faked. The AAQ-37 can still detect threats like MANPADs
AdrianV125@reddit
How so? What's your proof.
It is in line with every video released by the Iranian and Houthies when they down drones, same interface, same targeting reticle.
CENTOM confirmed it was hit...

Redditors are so fucking delusional.
MessaBombadWarrior@reddit
Just because the aircraft was damaged doesn't mean the video isn't fake.
AdrianV125@reddit
You know that MALAVs have different heat signatures than an F-35 or any other Jet? The only videos we saw till now of these systems are from drone downings.
"Lots of reasons" except the most logical, and confirmed one, sure bud.
It's funny so many details you aren't able to point out anymore.
You claimed something on a discussion forum I responded, it's not arguing, it's how this social works.
NewManufacturer6670@reddit
Yeah, definitely arrogance. It was like the videos of Israeli plans flying LOW over Iran, yes we have air superiority but MANPADs and SHORAD are still out there and HARMs aren’t finding them. F117 all over again.
theaviationhistorian@reddit
Hubris be the common form our air forces get crippled. I got blasted over this with people saying, well, the F-35 made it back home. That's not the point. The point is an aircraft sold as something that can evade enemy fire didn't! Air superiority doesn't mean they are safe to go at Cessna 152 cruise altitudes.
senorblueduck@reddit
Like in Blackhawk Down when a handful of sentries with cell phones or CB radios spot the helicopters and call them in. Asymmetric warfare is something we aren’t not good at.
musschrott@reddit
So it's not a problem then.
AdrianV125@reddit
This war is the definition of asymmetric warfare. Even if your mane adversary is a state actor it remains asymmetric.
Asymmetrical warfare is in the methods and not the subjects who fight...
DrStalker@reddit
You'd think the US would be used to asymmetric wars by now, given that it keeps getting into them.
NewManufacturer6670@reddit
We don’t suck at FIGHTING these kinds of wars, we just suck at everything that comes with it.
ADAMSMASHRR@reddit
we have HIMARS at home
ComfyDema@reddit
Idk if you’d know, and I suppose I could look it up. But how DOES an aircraft identify an IR/Optical track anyway?
Nerezza_Floof_Seeker@reddit
Ive also heard that its a turbojet powered missile (being a suspected copy of the Coyote 2), which might confuse any passive IR sensors for missile launch detection on the f35 which would be tuned more towards conventional solid fuel missiles.
kontemplador@reddit (OP)
it also makes sense that it was a small missile as the plane was able to come back home. If it was a big ass missile like a S-300, the fighter would have been doomed.

AdrianV125@reddit
My man CENTOM confirmed the hit, again CENTOM, no amount of Reddit cope will change that, again CENTOM confirmed the hit.
Please stop the cope it's ridiculous
akash434@reddit
Tbh seeing the copeum on Reddit the past day was pretty funny
Remarkable-Ad-5192@reddit
Yea, ur correct I did see that.

I know this is pedantic but this is Reddit. I’ve always wondered, do they set the radius limit on the turret to less than 180° or what happens if it tracks a target and sends up a rocket while pointed at the back of the cab.
rly_weird_guy@reddit
These vehicles are meant to be deployed, meaning crews get out, engine on or off depending on site, canopy over launcher stowed, hydraulic legs deployed etc
In the American version, the drivers compartment collapses like a convertible
Unsure of the Taiwanese version
