In the old days many nations had a load dicthonomy for their sidearms in the same nominal calibers. There was the "pistol" ammo and the "smg" ammo, which was usually loaded WAY hotter. It gets more complicated with 9mm as it is JUST hot enough to be too much for most simple blowback handguns and hot 9mm is way too much. This is part of why 9mm used to have a terrible reputation, some military versions of it is legit downloaded to 380 levels to work on relatively more fragile blowback pistol designs closer to 1900. The 9x18 standard load is about equal to the hottest you can get 380 or 9mm loaded until it needs something more robust than simple blowback without the gun being a brick like a hipoint.

It's really rare, I've yet to have any issues but a buddy of mine had a primer blowout but it was like 1 round out of 500 and he was running it in a gun with a printed reciever and a super safety.

I'd love to see it but all that S&B surplus had an explosion in price over the last 4 months and I don't see it going down anytime soon. Talked to someone who works at a company that occasionally imports it but mostly relies on RTI shipments because they are much bigger and he says its getting thin and getting more expensive to bring in. I ended up getting a .32 acp die set, a bunch of berrys bullets and starline brass when it crossed above .30 cpr.

Yea, I got about 2000 rounds and im just basically holding on to them now because i can reload for about .15 cpr... its just a pain in the ass but i love to shoot my vz61 so much. Only problem is i have to stand on a tarp to make sure i can find my brass lol.

I feel like with as many new receiver options, parts kits, 3D printed receivers, etc as I have seen for the VZ in the last year or so, they're getting objectively more popular. Hopefully that will drive the price down for the conversion kits. Even if it doesn't do anything for the price of 32 ACP.

After a couple hundred rounds it was feeding better. The barrel latch broke on our though and we had to send it in for warranty repair.
It also does a weird thing where it will eject the last round from the magazine sometimes.
