Just listen to the tone in her voice. She knows just how much of a sellout she is and how vilified she'll rightfully be.

strong Colin Powell vibes
slaughterproof@reddit
Was Colin Powell a spineless sellout too?
CapitanShoe@reddit
yes
TChadCannon@reddit
Came on here and defended her 100x over. Biggest political letdown ever for me. I thought she was gonna be a Ron Paul or Thomas Massie type for the Democrats. A real Bernie Sanders with a actual backbone... I understood her switching sides cause ive had a similar change in philosophies because of how things played out, plus being more knowledgeable...
But damn how does Joe freakin Kent resign before you do. And you go to bat for the administration AFTER ALL YOU ALREADY SAID AGAINST THIS TYPE OF POLITICS.
Well it took this long, but I learned my lesson.
Won't ever trust a soul in there. Trusted Obama, Trusted Bernie, Trusted Tulsi. That was my 3 strikes..
Ive known for a long time that 95-99% of politicians were either mediocre, spineless, corrupt, or all of the above. Nobody could've convinced me she'd be in any those categories a few years back. Really even up to last year. But this is too much. She staked her reputation against exactly what's going on now, for almost a decade smh. Shameful
EssentIYO@reddit
What Obama do? Lol
crispix24@reddit
Droned American citizens without any actual trial or evidence. Do people really not know this?
EssentIYO@reddit
That’s a real issue, but it’s being grossly overstated. It involved a small number of terrorism-related cases, not a broad practice against American citizens.
crispix24@reddit
I don't think it's overstated at all. The constitution guarantees the right to a trial before any death sentence can be imposed. Several of the people in question were not accused of terrorism either. One was a professor who was speaking out against US action in the middle east. Another was his son who wasn't even accused of anything if I remember correctly. The point is the rules don't change because some vague accusation of "terrorism" otherwise we would be in real trouble when Trump realizes this.
EssentIYO@reddit
You’re right that it raises serious due process concerns, especially with his son. But it’s still overstated to frame it as a broad practice. The main case involved a U.S. citizen the government alleged was part of Al-Qaeda, not just a critic, and it was justified under wartime authority—not a general rule that bypasses the Constitution.
crispix24@reddit
I would just say that there have been serious challenges to whether the droning was legal or constitutional. The problem with letting it slide for Obama is that later presidents like Trump could turn it into broad practice. If we let the executive branch perform their own extrajudicial killings under their own justification, I don't want to know what someone like Trump does with that power.
EssentIYO@reddit
That’s a fair concern about precedent, and there were real legal challenges to it. But that’s still a separate issue from how it was actually used. Based on what’s publicly known, it wasn’t applied as a broad practice against Americans—it was limited to a small number of counterterrorism cases. The risk of expansion is a valid debate, but it’s not evidence that it already became widespread.
togsu@reddit
Won the Nobel peace prize and increased our foreign military intervention while many "anti-war" democrats all of a sudden fell silent because their side was in office. I gained a lot of respect for Glenn Greenwald during this period... As a left democrat he was one of few voices that continued to critique Obama's foreign policy after beginning his journalism better criticizing Bush's.
TChadCannon@reddit
bomb more countries than Bush
togsu@reddit
Curious to hear your specific criticisms of Bernie. I know he hasn't stayed completely principled on his issues, seemed like it was mostly out of pragmatism.
TChadCannon@reddit
No backbone. Hillary Clinton paid off the DNC debts in the primaries. They essentially campaigned FOR HER. And he did too. Spineless. Plus his voting record hasnt always aligned with some of his stated principles. Its always on some "i did this for the greater good" type shit, and back when I was on his wave, i let it slide. But not standing up for himself against Hillary, that was the weakest shit i ever seen. And I thought Tulsi was his brand of politics, minus the weak shit
withersins@reddit
I still have her "love about war <3) sticker. biggest let down and I don't support any politicians. She got me. But her islamophobia should've been a red flag
shawnjp@reddit
Can people stop using this made word “Islamophobia”. It was created for the west to allow Islam to rule
crispix24@reddit
The suffix phobia means a fear or aversion. So the word refers to people who have a fear or aversion to the religion. I don't think it's an inaccurate word.
CJLB@reddit
Tf are you smoking
arcticfox@reddit
As soon as someone uses concocted words like "Islamophobia" you can ignore anything else they say. They are ideologically driven and don't base any of their beliefs on anything outside of that ideology.
Sharkdart@reddit
Every word is made up.
DonMo999@reddit
Oh you are a clever one. Was every concept made up too? So first came the word? And the word was God?
Texan2116@reddit
I cannot think of a single politician who has let me down more in the last several years.
I was truly hoping she would be the Dem to Replace Trump.
Now, I can never trst her again, and she has given any political opponent loads of ammo to use against her.
Any association w Trump will be political cyanide in 2 years.
DonMo999@reddit
Maybe 6; Rubio and Vance are better contenders for President than any prominent Democrat at this time. Newsom, AOC, Omar and Fetterman probably have the biggest brand recognition of the Dems today.
I hope I don’t have to explain why none of them work?
Texan2116@reddit
I thinking Mark Kelly may give it a shot.
patdashuri@reddit
He’s a hawk
MindZapp@reddit
I dont know what people were expecting from her or many of these other politicians including Trump for that matter. If they stay in the system long enough they become part of that system regardless of how noble their intentions are.
MindZapp@reddit
Not just her tone but body language. Like someone else that comes to mind she projects that she doesnt believe in what she's saying
EssentIYO@reddit
People claim they always knew she was a fraud but this is a complete different human from when she was in Congress before she ran for president. She has zero confidence now.
RemoteNormal3319@reddit
Oh shit, you guys finally turned on her. Happy to see it.
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
I'm not one who "finally" turned on her, I knew she was a snake ever since meeting with Assad and defending Trump over the Russia collusion and then her Present vote on impeachment. Just feeling vindicated.
RemoteNormal3319@reddit
Not saying you in particular, just the sub in general.
VinosD@reddit
If you game in politics, you'll end up being played by the system.
forgotmypassword778@reddit
Only question I want to know
After she got the job did she spit or swallow?
DavidLegba93@reddit
Team Tulsi forever 🙏
sundubone@reddit
Agree.
Glad someone like her as DNI is advising the President. People want to criticize her but all she is doing is her job which is to oversee the 18 intelligence agencies and provide an assessment of that REALITY to the only person that can make the final call on what is an "imminent threat" to our nation. Imagine a real war hawk as DNI like that George Tenet? I saw her live at the Nixon Library and regardless what anyone says... I know she will always have that aloha spirit in her and believe her when she said.. "patriotism over party"
EssentIYO@reddit
DNI supposed to be doing witch hunts in Fulton County?
DavidLegba93@reddit
I agree with you nicely typed 🙏
EssentIYO@reddit
Tulsi’s aging like that M. Night movie Old—you can see the years show up fast.
LibertarianLoser44@reddit
This position will bite her and RFK in the butt later.
watching_whatever@reddit
Trump has committed War Crimes on her watch by bombing gas supplies today needed for civilian survival.
Tulsi has become fully compliant with Trump’s policies and does not have the force of character needed even for this office let alone higher posts.
DonMo999@reddit
God I love Reddit. Three carrier groups in the Middle East and she should walk into the oval and do what exactly.
Leave a strongly worded letter? Haha
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
Resign in protest. Or start speaking out against the war and force Trump to fire her.
DonMo999@reddit
Or you know; don’t. The democrats are never taking her back; the rhinos 🦏 never liked her to begin with. If I was her I’d hitch my wagon on Rubio; they both seem relatively level headed and share similar objectives.
The Game of politics is long and not without compromises.
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
So all of that "No War With Iran" stuff in 2020 was just politicking and she wasn't sincere about anything?
DonMo999@reddit
That’s six years ago, when she was still a democrat, no? She ran for President on a democrat ticket then. And killed Kamala for good measure.
There has been a seismic shift in politics since then.
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
So your argument is she's just a complete opportunist with no principles. Got it.
DonMo999@reddit
You can read it as you want; I followed and liked her for years. She was a staunch Bernie defender and he got betrayed multiple times by the Democrat party. She saw Kamala for the snake she was (in my opinion) and still Kamala made it to the White House.
I think her principles held strong, it’s just her party left her and she found herself liked more by Republicans than Democrats.
What would you do? Stand in your principle or go with your (perhaps former) team?
tuepm@reddit
How have her principles held strong if she previously was staunchly opposed to war with Iran and now supports it? Are you even listening to yourself? Who gives a shit about what "team" you are on? Either you have principles or you don't and Tulsi has shown that she doesn't.
The only thing to do is to stand on your principles. Otherwise, everyone (except you apparently) will see that you are a pathetic opportunist who doesn't stand for anything.
_xxxtemptation_@reddit
At no point has she ever proclaimed support for the Iran war. What she did say, is that she briefed the president on the available intelligence to the best of her ability and the president decided to escalate. She also said, that the decision to escalate is not hers, but the presidents. She also declined to comment on whether Iran was an imminent threat.
For all you know, she’s the only reason we don’t have American boots on the ground right now. Maybe listen to the women instead of whatever echo chamber you’re stealing your opinions from.
DonMo999@reddit
As I mentioned somewhere else on this thread; the tweet she send out opposing war in Iran was from 2020. We are in 2026. That’s how long the Second World War was. Things and opinions change.
Maybe you are a static frame. But then you are easily replaced.
tuepm@reddit
Donald Trump ran his campaign in 2024 on the idea that Kamala Harris would start a war with Iran and he would not. Tulsi Gabbard only changed her tune on this issue after Donald Trump had started a war with Iran that he promised he wouldn't start.
Your opinion doesn't really hold water because you've already admitted that what you really care about is whether or not your "team" is winning and not if the people we elect do what they say they will.
Tulsi Gabbard absolutely should have stepped down or made Trump fire her because either way her political career is absolutely cooked after this. She will never be elected to public office again.
DonMo999@reddit
Donald Trump is barely part of this conversation; but he said if Iran does not stop enriching Uranium beyond the 5% necessary for nuclear power he would ‘blow them up’ (I think that is a direct quote).
He most certainly did not run his campaign in ‘24 on Iran; it was no new wars and Bidens embarrassing retreat in Afghanistan.
I’ll give you that Trump is most certainly not the most consistent President in his messaging; perhaps even likely the worst.
But so is your reading comprehension. I said that Tulsi took conviction over team sports, so she is now in the Trump cabinet, as a lifelong Democrat.
tuepm@reddit
Iran is a new war. LOL
My principles are static. I believe war is awful and that is why a long time ago I joined this sub. Now I stick around to remind people like you that you are pathetic and Tulsi will be someone who is forgotten soon than later.
DonMo999@reddit
She will certainly be remembered longer than you; but do stick around, occasionally you may learn something.
tuepm@reddit
LOL. I am certainly not going to learn anything from you. Earlier you said you thought Tulsi should hitch her wagon to Marco Rubio because you thought they shared similar objectives. Nothing could be further from the truth. You do not know what you are talking about. The only objective they share is completely abandoning their principles in order to achieve political power. I knew as soon as I read that comment that you have no idea what you're talking about. You are just making shit up. You are a Donald Trump sycophant who is here to defend Tulsi because she is a member of his cabinet. It is obvious to everyone what you actually are.
DonMo999@reddit
Copium is a hell of a drug isn’t it haha
Grow up or don’t; the world moves without you all the same.
bigmt99@reddit
What’s her principle? The DNC has dirty internal party politics? How fucking brave and important of her to stand up for it
DonMo999@reddit
Take it up with her, not me. I personally think she stayed right in principle and the Democratic Party moved away from her; sure it’s easier to be in opposition than if you are the head of all the branches of the intelligence services of the US.
She is privilege to levels of information we can’t even dream of. Here is a question for you: Have you ever changed your mind after you learned you were wrong about something?
bigmt99@reddit
You’re such an easy mark lmao
DonMo999@reddit
You seem more angry than me. Have a great day sweetheart.
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
I think a "staunch Bernie defender" would stick with Bernie.
DonMo999@reddit
Certainly more than the Democrat rank and file in 2016. Or 2020 for that matter.
DonMo999@reddit
You know, the Second World War, was also “only” six years long. It’s a long time.
EssentIYO@reddit
She made her bed.
DonMo999@reddit
She certainly did. I agree with her decision, you don’t. That’s fine.
EssentIYO@reddit
You're part of the problem.
DonMo999@reddit
Be my guest. Democracy is annoying to you, isn’t it.
EssentIYO@reddit
I never said that. But supporting corruption is why this country has Trump as President right now but hey good for democracy and Tulsi's Bank account.
TheJuiceIsL00se@reddit
Resign in protest so Trump can install whoever he wants. Likely a worse sycophant. Great idea.
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
She's being the exact same sycophant right now.
TheJuiceIsL00se@reddit
You have no idea what is happening behind closed doors. You’re only seeing what is carefully written and rewritten.
sundubone@reddit
Exactly. As DNI she has the HIGHEST security clearances so if you ever believed in her, you believe her now with her risk assessments. I spent hours upon hours listening to her during her 2020 run, her moments at the DNC, read her book, so I invested time understanding her nuances over all those years so she will continue to have my support.
MeteorPunch@reddit
It's better to leave a good person there who silently resists and doesn't conform, than to be replaced with another stooge.
thedubiousstylus@reddit (OP)
The job currently isn't held by such a person.
EssentIYO@reddit
Do what she did when she was at the dnc. Remember how brave and such a big sacrifice she made back then?
DonMo999@reddit
Fucking Reddit. He just nuked his account.
DonMo999@reddit
Yeah, that’s a not just a bit naïve; another break like that and she would be done, too many burned bridges; plus now she is in charge of all the agencies (nominally at least).
When she quit the DNC she was a decade or so younger and at the start.
Idealism is nice when you are young, but only power changes outcomes.
EssentIYO@reddit
So your point is once you have power, don’t risk it?
Then you’re not using power—you’re just keeping it.
bigmt99@reddit
Resign instead of sitting in front of congress and testifying in support of it.
absurd_olfaction@reddit
Disgusting on so many levels.
andyroid92@reddit
Typical say-one-thing-do-the-opposite-politician. Fucking sellout. So disappointed in her.
mcndjxlefnd@reddit
Remember how she was a WEF "young global leader"? I remember at the time people were making excuses about that. They did the same for Musk too. Nope. They're all working for the elite and ushering in the great reset. A lot of people aren't aware yet, but this war IS the great reset.
