Having the tooling is like... 25% of the equation for manufacturing.
Maintenance and upkeep of said tooling, the operators themselves as well as their training, and the policies, conditions, and procedures of the plant as a whole.
Im not calling either POF or MKE trash, but I think people put too much emphasis on "hk tooling".... If HK dropped off the machinery 30 years ago but it's falling apart and operated by an underpaid, under trained, overworked employee then you're going to get shit results
Or even if HK sends techs from Germany to maintain the equipment, your Turkish or Pakistani boss may decide that you personally need to produce an extra 200 guns this month and to not worry about QC
Everything has to come together...having tooling doesn't mean a ton other than it's a good place to start

I own an AP5 so everything I say is subjective because I have had great experience with it especially for the cost comparatively. But it’s nice to know that at one point HK showed them how to make the firearms and sold them their old equipment to do so.

Probably jigs and molds. As a toolmaker who gets to deal with 50 year old machines on a daily, it really means nothing. Tooling wears and has to be replaced fairly often as things start veering out of spec. The only plus side to making things with old tooling is you know what specs things are supposed to be when you have to make new tooling. Takes all the R&D out of it. Whether you have the skills to get the new tooling in spec or care enough to do it is an entirely different matter

These are new imports from POF. My first MP5 clone was an AP5, like many of the people on the HK sub, I had replace a ton of internals to get it to work reliably. The POFs work out of the box. This is all a bit anecdotal, but that’s my pitch.

I had a really bad AP5P that was getting roller dents right out of the box. Century took it back and sent me a completely new one. The replacement was better but I still had to replace the extractor and ejector to fix all the issues.

The civilian HK’s from that line, the HK91, HK93, and HK94 all had the metal G3 style trigger pack/grip.
The MP5 used in Die Hard was actually a HK94 converted to full auto with a cut down barrel, and has this trigger pack, so this model is actually more accurate for “now I have a machine gun ho ho ho” larping.
