It is a personal preference for each person. Some like the features on the m3 and some do not based on how each mag works with their firearms. So I would recommend buying say 5 of each and compare them with hundreds of rounds through each version.

No, M3's no longer come with dust covers. You may find some old stock M3's that include it but Magpul stopped including the dust cover years ago.

I looked at what I paid for M3's at Lanboy's Armory for M3's with dust covers and what I paid after they were no longer included. The price dropped a little but less than the cost of buying a 3-pack of dust covers. Many who bought M3's threw away the dust covers so it was a good change for them but it likely increased the profit margin for Magpul and increased the cost for those who now buy the 3-packs of dust covers.

Does anyone’s Gen 2s get stuck/jammed in their magwells? From some reason some older Gen 2 mags got stuck in BOTH my BCM and Daniel defense lower. Basically the bolt wedged the mag and it was a pain the ass to get out. Happend on the same range day. Literally had to slam a hammer on the bolt catch to get it to release. But they run fine on my MP15 though..

My experience with gen 2 is that they're a little more finicky with different lowers, or can be. I have psa and aero lowers and when I was active duty my colt. All of them ran gen 2's flawlessly, but I do know some guys who had other lowers (like dd) with different results.
Gen 3 fixed a lot of that from what I heard, but it was a problem I never needed solved so just reporting hearsay.

Yeah a quick google search showed other people have experienced the same/similiar issue. I was sitting on a old 10 pack that I stocked up on years ago and decided to open up a few of them on a range day and they ended up jamming two riffles. I like how sleek/slim the gen 2s are especially when carrying them on a belt/chest rig.
