I gotta say my GEN 3 keltec sub 2000 has been amazing, and I got it for under 350 bucks. Amazing trigger, takes glock p mags, has ran with zero issues for the first few 100 rounds so far. 27 rd pmags are my go too. The only complaint is I with the grip was a little longer, with any mag bigger than a 15 rounder it's fine tho.

This thing is a total gimmick and worth every penny. It's so much fun to shoot. I got it when they were running the free Vortex Crossfire with it. Though, any modification to it will most likely null it latching when it folds. I put a QD on the handguard and it obstructed it enough to not fold. I put a Crimson Trace RIG on it.

I feel like S&W can be like Keltec with money. They have tons of wacky guns they bring to market that are developmental dead ends but they produce them anyway

Not quite dead end. They could improve the charging handle, since it needs a finger on each side to actually pull back. They could make the buffer tube compatible with AR stocks and make it adjustable. They could make the stock magazine storage a friction fit, rather than the weird latch that they have in there. They could add a QD slot to the handguard or add a clip for a single point sling near the back of the receiver. There's an aftermarket rail that fits over the receiver so that you can install a BUS. They could add an actual slide release instead of their slide stop nonsense.
