Two hours of blood, sweat and toil this afternoon and I have successfully left Windows behind. Hail to the penguin!

I grew up on Windows systems, but the bloat, update creep, feature creep and Microsoft threatening to push AI further into Windows made me realize I couldn't deal with it any more. So I asked a friend to recommend a distro, set up a boot drive and (despite only having a ghost of an idea what I was doing) changed over to Ubuntu Desktop. It's nice, not having your own OS slowly choke the life out of your hardware. Also using the Terminal to install things through curl was interesting too: I haven't done command line anything since I was screwing around with DOS batch files for fun in tech college in the late 2000s. I'm learning as I go and it's great.
