Do you have any experience of living next to a bar, nightclub or similar?

I grew up living above a busy city centre bar/pub/nightclub in the late 80s and early 90s. My parents were landlords. We moved away from that industry when I was 9 years old and moved to a regular old former-council home, like normal people. Now, im 37 and I rent a flat opposite my childhood bedroom overlooking the same section of the same street outside the same club (which is now a Pop-World), there is another nightclub 30m down the street in one direction, and another 30m in the other direction. Its the very much the clubbing end of town. Its mostly fine living here, because the drinking culture in general is absolutely dire these days and quickly declining. The only drinking holes in the city that are doing well and are full are the proper pubs, the locals. The old brass bar establishments that have developed a community that hasn't gone away, not yet anyway. These days, there is maybe 10-20 Saturdays a year where its actually noisy outside. But incase you are interested, here are the main 3 things or triggers that make living above a nightclub horrible at times: 1. Emergency Services. Sometimes the police will be called out to deal with whatever ruckus is afoot - and those sirens are just so unnecessarily loud in a tight urban environment. Worse still when they decide to just leave the lights and sirens running while they deal with their shit to help disperse people... at 4 am. And yeah, sometimes its ambulance folk for the unfortunate/deserved victims of the chaos down below...and you've got to appreciate them for it and clap on a Thursday, but also would like them to shut the fuck up a bit with the sirens. 2. The Biddy Bad-Boy Racers: Wherever you put a nightclub, you attract a certain calibre of young gentlemen who *love* to drive-by the club front and queue in some wannabe fast and furious converted 3-door with the exhaust removed. Blaring out godawful music, as if all the ladies in the club will come running out to them, and when they obviously dont, the inevitable high-rev-low-gear double-tap before they eventually get embarrassed and loudly floor it for the traffic lights, approximately 12m down the road. Tossers. 3. Drunk women screaming. This is the number one un-avoidable shrill shreik that you cant ignore and will wake you up. Blokes shouting and bawling is just like a constant backnoise, its easy to ignore and it sort of fits in with the general low rumble of the road and you dont notice it as much...but a one off high pitched "SHAZZA!" shreik can really ruin a wank.
