G'day team
Apologies if this isn't the right sub, does anyone know how hiring is going for Air NZ at the moment and possibly how it's looking in the short term? If I play my cards right, I might hit 500 hours by end of next year.
I know that's the minimums but I'd heard they had been doing a fair bit of hiring recently and was curious what the talk was of that trend continuing?

A little different to what everyone else is saying - I know a guy about 23 who just started flying turboprops in Jan for ANZ. He was about minimum hours and said there was someone in his group who got a job at just 21 years old. Maybe a slither of hope

Did they instruct prior? Trying to get a feel for aviation hiring in NZ moving over this year. Cheers!

Yes I believe for \~1.5-2 years?

Instructors that I know who were hired in the last few months all had 1000+ hours. I am in the same boat as you, I get the feeling currently you need over 1000 to even be considered. Plus the expression of interest is currently closed, they must have a heap of CV’s sitting around from the when it was last open.

Hi! Curious how your hour building has gone in NZ? Are you flight instructing? Moving across soon! Can’t seem to find too much info. Cheers!

I'll message you mate

mate 500 is just ticket to the party, doesn’t mean they let you in, especially there some folks with way more hours still waiting around this year getting any flying gig is just pain

Yeah I'm trying to gauge if anyone knows what the current recruitment situation is looking like or what it's looking like in the near future. I believe they had been doing some pretty aggressive recruiting over the last year or so and I'm hoping it stays like that at least until I can hit their mins

You seem to have the minimums for the Turboprop fleet, not yet jet fleet. That’ll require some jet/turboprop experience though

G'day, cheers for that. I know what hours etc they are asking for, I was more seeing if anyone had any insight as to how recruitment is going or is projected to go in the nearish future.
Not at the minimums yet, on the way and hoping things line up though
