Adults who live with their parents, do you argue a lot?

35 and not treated like an adult specifically by my dad. I "understand" why, but it doesn't excuse it. My parents were divorced since I was 4, so as per divorced parents, he wasn't always around. He became more absent the older I got. I would say 15 is about the last time he was somewhat regularly in contact in terms of going out for the day and such, with it being once a year at best from then on...If that. Other than that it was an occasional phone call. He was starting up a company and asked me to work with him to make amends and rebuild the relationship, which is fair. I agreed hoping the same, putting the past to one side because I did want a relationship with my dad. It was like he just picked up from where he left off. In his mind I was still 15 even though I was about 27. It never really got any better, with him treating me the same way you would treat any 15 year old in an industrial enviroment: with strict guidance and limitations for both their own safety and so they don't fuck things up. Like, dude, I had a life before this, I can use a fucking screwdriver. Colleagues literally waited and put off jobs until he wasn't there to let me do it in his absence so they could then say "dude, he can do this shit", otherwise I would be stuck with the basic "safe" shit you would let a child do so they feel useful. It's like he was waiting for the part where I grow and develop into a different person, into an adult, except he missed that part and it was never going to happen because I had already done it. Anyway, he almost died recently and my input was ringing the hospital to see if he was going to be alright. They said "he's stable", to which I thought "I might see him when he gets out then". So, safe to say, the relationship never got better...I would honestly say it got worse, entirely because he treats me like a child.
