Cheapest I can make a roundtrip flight to Austin, TX?

hello. I live in New Jersey. I want to screen at a clinical trial place in Austin, TX.
This would be for during the day only. The day would be some day during the week of 3/23.
This isn’t hard for me to do, but I would still like to make it as cheap as possible. Coupon, coupons, codes, airlines, whatever I have to do to make it as cheap as possible. I’ll carry a personal bag instead of a carry on too. No judgment, helpful answers only please. Thanks

Flying from NJ to Austin for just a daytime trip, booking early helps a lot. Check budget carriers like Frontier, Spirit, or Southwest and use flight search tools to compare prices (set alerts for March 23 week). Being flexible with airports (EWR, JFK, LGA to AUS) and dates around that week usually gets cheaper fares. Flying with just a personal bag definitely saves money too. Also search for promo codes and sign up for airline price alerts so you catch any deals.

Spirit and United fly nonstop Newark-Austin. Frontier via Atlanta. Spirit and Frontier will be the cheapest, if you don't have carry on.

Google flights or Kayak.
No such thing as airline coupons, at least in the US.

you need to have an idea for your max budget, too though. that includes airline, baggage fees, food/drink while there, and when you need to be at the trial, and when you can go home (the latest you're willing to or have to). i use expedia more often than not for the best deals.
