Early 2000s truck?

Looking to buy a reliable early 2000s truck. Any recommendations. I see a lot of Rams on marketplace in my area, but not sure of them. I had a 2004 Chevy Silverado 4.8L, and I liked it, but I could feel the trans was going around 170k.

the 4L60E on your 2004 starting to fail at 170k is a downside but upside is that 4L60Es are worth less than scrap and if you're willing to take the risk, can be disassembled, repaired and reassembled over the weekend with youtube videos for guide.

I have a 2005 colorado thats been super solid. General advice would be either a Ford ranger or a Mazda b series. Rangers/b series run forever and can do most things that any larger truck could do, short of towing.
