Wings!

I’m on a quest to find the best wings in Dallas. What are your recommendations for the BEST wings? Wing chains tend to be more convenient for me but mom and pop shops need love too; I just can’t find the good ones.

BB.Q Chicken
Or
No.1 plus wings
SuchTax1991@reddit
They’re super expensive
BunkMoreland1414@reddit
This is the way.
alexdev50@reddit
Love em, hate the price. At least portions are big
Tiiimmmaayy@reddit
Wanted to try them, but I just looked at the menu and $20+ for a 3 piece chicken combo is crazy work
ItsJustAPoleThang@reddit
It’s worth it man
alexdev50@reddit
Yeah, I will admit it's very good and portions are big but I can't bring myself to go more than once a month.
Troll_U_Softly@reddit
Spicy original at bb.q is unmatched
Key_Suit2853@reddit
BB. Q Chicken is fire...love their Hot Spicy sauce.
howza4@reddit
Go ahead & get in the car and drive down to wings-n- more in college station
jdann24@reddit
I'd like to vote responsibly for Pluckers.
Csharp27@reddit
Idk, 10 years ago I’d be with you, but they seem to have gone downhill. The last couple times I’ve gone their wings were tiny and came out overcooked yet cold. They used to absolutely nail it every time and have huge juicy wings. Still, their sauces are unmatched. Bakers gold and spicy garlic parm are my go-to’s
a_hockey_chick@reddit
Their wings are inconsistent but their boneless tenders are as huge as they’ve ever been. Irritatingly they were out of Bakers gold yesterday though!!
rando_in_dfw@reddit
I just got the tenders last night and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality.
Everything seems to have gotten more expensive and smaller and the tenders seems to at least still be as big as before and probably just slightly not expensive.
Cu77eR@reddit
Yeah I don't know what happened to pluckers but they fell the fuck off, maybe they expanded too fast but both the plano and allen locations are run down and the staff all hate their fucking jobs. The food takes forever and comes out cold, I used to be a card carrying member before they switched to the app bullshit and they were quite consistent but for the price vs what you get they absolutely are not worth it anymore. Everything tastes like a salt bomb now.
Csharp27@reddit
That’s really the biggest thing I remember, the staff didn’t give half a shit at the Plano location. They were just fucking around the whole time by themselves. Im pretty sure my wings were ready at least like 5-10 minutes before they brought them out. I was server for a long time, so I can understand some goofing off, but their give a shit level was incredibly low.
ChefMikeDFW@reddit
They really have. Allen has become the worst spot by far with inconsistent cook, greasy, and in so many cases, bland wings. The last time we went we submitted a huge compliant that even got a few of us sick and nothing but crickets from management.
Anxious-Chair9569@reddit (OP)
I think it depends on the location. I may be biased but the Addison and Plano locations seem to be the best imo
Csharp27@reddit
Plano is the one I go to haha, maybe you’ve had different experiences but mine have been disappointing.
davidhern22@reddit
Spicy garlic parm is drugs . I go I knowing my body can’t deal with heartburn anymore and will risk it for the garlic parm lol
AggravatingGur5456@reddit
Yes, pluckers in the last 10-15 years has gone to shit. When I was in high school back in 08', it was at its peak. It's recently become popular and is catering to a more Hispanic demographic.

Razor1834@reddit
I agree with most of the other comments. They used to be good but something has gone horribly wrong over time.
AbuMunther@reddit
The one in Allen has horrible recent reviews. I am a big wings fan and I have not one in Dallas yet. Northern Virginia had many local franchises and there so good.
Responsible-File3008@reddit
On Rotation right next to love field has great wings! AYCE on wednesdays!
spistachio2020@reddit
Can you elaborate about the AYCE on Wed?? Can't find anything about it on their website...
Responsible-File3008@reddit
Yeah it’s $19 and they start you with 10 (with choice of two sauces) then refills come in five at a time with one sauce. Sauces are buffalo, bbq, tai chili, garlic cotija, and chipotle ghost pepper.
timayws@reddit
Follow their socials, they promote it often!

smokybbq90@reddit
But that queso!
It's not Cattleack, but it can hit the spot for a decent price. A 1/2# of meat + a side for $17 these days isn't bad. It's also hard to mess up a giant baked potato with all the toppings.

Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
I got them once and they were charred pretty hard and tasted like the oil was off 🤷♂️
TexasBaconMan@reddit
Really. Did not notice that
Anxious-Chair9569@reddit (OP)
Valley wings is good but I’m not the biggest fan of their ranch. Good ranch is essential for wings!
TexasBaconMan@reddit
Uh, gonna have to dis agree with ya there.
avatexrs@reddit
There is no such thing as “good ranch” for wings. In Buffalo it’s considered an insult to say someone has ranch with their wings.
civil_beast@reddit
Only second in importance to that of bleu cheese, of course.
zbevans@reddit
AD Buffalo Wings in McKinney and Fort Worth is the one for me.
StuckInTheMiddleSeat@reddit
Unpopular opinion: Korean fried chicken. Favorite place is No 1 Plus Chicken
givebackmac@reddit
I suggested in a separate comment Hotsome in the lewisville mall Korean market....soooooo good
robbzilla@reddit
Korean Chicken is god-tier.
Semicoldwater@reddit
I moved back to California where we have a lot of good Asian food and I haven’t found a Korean fried chicken place that hit like no1 plus 😩😩
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
Great fried chicken probably the best IMO. A weird recommendation but probably the best smoked wings I’ve had in Dallas would be social pie
ToddtheRugerKid@reddit
Social Pie really? I go to Maple Landing about every other month and will keep Social Pie's smoked wings in mind.
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
I would have never expected it but honestly they’re great. Simple but carry a great smoke and well seasoned. I eat a lot of wings and these are a go to of mine
ToddtheRugerKid@reddit
Try the brisket melt from Maple Landing sometime. Cheese and sauteed onions/mushrooms on a brisket sandwich is some evil genius shit I had never even thought of before seeing that on their menu.
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
I believe it I had brunch there only once but was impressed. Will try
ToddtheRugerKid@reddit
The brisket is far from the best even within a few miles of there, but it's great for what's essentially just a random bar.
_ze@reddit
As a resident of Richardson, this is a very popular opinion.
ElectricPotato@reddit
There is no No 1 plus in Richardson
ZuuRocks@reddit
There IS a No. 1 plus chicken in Richardson.
StuckInTheMiddleSeat@reddit
I think it changed owners/names.
Looking at the images of the menu it used to be No 1 Plus Chicken but is now CHI-SPOT.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/YwcFJt9mMFtcAoHT8?g_st=ic
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
Oooh you’re talking about Richardson spot changing names. Dallas is still the same
Other-Session9295@reddit
As a No. 1 Plus die hard, I was originally opposed to the place changing, but gave it a shot, and its wings are comparable to before. So this place is still a contender of you're close to Richardson
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
Haven’t been since the change. I’m glad to hear this. Also glad I bought a shirt from there before the name change
FakenFrugenFrokkels@reddit
BBQ Chicken in Richardson is great!
designvegabond@reddit
Not on Google Maps
ZuuRocks@reddit
Ah. My apologies. I wasn’t aware of the change! Good to know.
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
Also while on the topic the fried chicken place in the new H mart definitely hits the spot in a pinch. Doesn’t have the charm of No. 1 but solid
desklikearaven@reddit
No.1 plus chicken is dope!!

Daiquiri Depot off of 360 & Abrams in Arlington, right across the street from the GM Plant. It's a generalized soul food place that sells Daiquiris to go. They sell their wings complete (Not cut into flappers/drums) and can get pretty spicy. I ate there all the time when I lived in the area.
Trespeon@reddit
Tbh I’ve wings everywhere and to this day nothing tops Pluckers. They are legit just that good and the fact that they have so many options is great for people who like variety.
PandaTaco90@reddit
I just moved back to Dallas a year ago after being gone for four years and pluckers has been very disappointing the times I’ve had it since I’ve been back. Any specific locations that are better?
kabob21@reddit
Addison is just as good as when I was in college 20 yrs ago
saulgarza01@reddit
Addison location has always been one of the better ones imo
Trespeon@reddit
I only ever go to Grapevine or Village on the Parkway and they have never done me wrong so I can’t speak for the others.
Low_Application_907@reddit
Alexandre's in Oaklawn. It looks like just another dive on the strip, but it actually has an amazing array of high quality cocktails and food. I walk past it all the time and didn't realize this til the other day. The wings were SO good.
Later I messaged my bartending buddy telling him we really need to go together and he said he recognized the name. It was in a texas best bartending book he had.
Klutzy_Opportunity53@reddit
Definitely doesn’t look like a dive bar tbf
Low_Application_907@reddit
Its more from the outside and because all the surrounding ones are clubs/dives. The inside of Alexandre's is very nice!

Check out Bonchon. Lots of good Korean style wings plus other favorites.

I can vouch for Fry Daddy’s in southeast Dallas and also Lord of the Wings in Oak Cliff.
The elote-flavor wings are gooood
Hozay_La15@reddit
I have to disagree. I live in oak Cliff and have bought from him 4-5 times and the quality of the chicken itself I believe is subpar. Then it takes a while sometimes to get your food and once you get home, the meal is lukewarm. I love the guy but there is room for improvement.
Sheppard_88@reddit
Where is Lord of the Wings? I can’t find them on Apple Maps.

They’re sweet and tangy, not really spicy. So good though. They’re also the small wings so you can just pound them.

Wings 88 in irving, the dry lemon pepper is the best. The fat to skin to meat ratio is always on point, excellent exterior texture and the meat pulls off the bone.
As others have said Korean fried chicken has some of the best flavored wings out there. But If you prefer the texture of a naked wing, this is this the spot.

Nr1CoolGuy@reddit
I'll get hated for this but wings is my jam, sauce specifically. It has to hurt a touch, being delicious helps.
For my money the best sauce in town is Buffalo Wild Wings mango habanero.
So out of the 100 places I've tried wings, BWW is still my top choice
Anxious-Chair9569@reddit (OP)
I definitely do thing BWW has some of the best mango habanero. I also love their choices of spicy wings!
Nr1CoolGuy@reddit
The most upsetting thing for me is ordering a wing with habanero sauce and it tastes like fruit juice and sugar. If Habanero is in the name... Use habanero, it's supposed to hurt.
Anxious-Chair9569@reddit (OP)
I 1000% agree. If the sweet and spice isn’t at least balanced (although I do prefer more spice than sweet) then it’s not mango habanero!
AdDiscombobulated623@reddit
You crazy for that one fam
Nr1CoolGuy@reddit
I agree, there is no other wing sauce that slaps like that one though.
poptartheart@reddit
mango hab and their Caribbean jerk are the best flavors for wings ive ever had.
