I'd say 92. I have an m9a4 and one of the new 226 x legions, both da/sa, and while I think I shoot the 226 a tiny bit more accurately at speed, I think they are just about neck in neck. You do have to buy an optic plate with the Berettas so add on $80 for a dlah plate
Can't go wrong with either. M9a4 was about $860 and the 226 x legion was $1450

You're likely cross shopping it with a CZ Shadow 2. Fits into Carry Optics or Limited Optics divisions in USPSA, and is SAO in stead of DA/SA like the Shadow 2.

these would go in the same division as 2011's and other sao guns: limited/limited optics. 1911's go in single stack, which is just the same gun with shit capacity.
It's the cz shadow 2 that goes in a different division entirely: production/carry optics.

This is a competition pistol. At $1600 this would be significantly cheaper (and more interesting imo) than most 2011s. It's going to have more than double the capacity of a 1911 as well.

It's in a class with the TSO and Shadow 2 and those are both significantly better guns at the same or lower cost and has 10x the aftermarket. I love the 226 (I have a legion 226) but it's just in a saturated market (competition shooting is a small demographic).

On the other hand, this is about as nice as a P226 can get (and probably more inherently reliable than a 1911/2011 as well).

Almost guaranteed this will have higher reliability than a 1911 platform gun. 1911s are known for having more issues than modern designs (as it should given the age). Meanwhile the p226 is renowned for being one of the most reliable pistols ever put in the US military trials

I recently found a used Reserve (steel frame + glossy dlc variant of a X5 legion), and I have to say, these new 226s are excellent. The ergonomics are just perfect, imo, grip feels very nice, controls are smooth (the mag release is 🤌🏻smoother than my xc), easy to reach for a person with smaller hands, the thumb ledge is one of the best executed ever, even compared to the Atlas thumb rest I have on my XC. Trigger is very good out of the box, and very tunable, which I haven't tried yet. I definitely wouldn't say it's 1911/2011 good when dry fired (it's still a hinged design), but during live fire it's virtually undistinguishable. The flat trigger shoe is great though, again better than what came stock with the XC.
Unfortunately, I wish the shooting dynamics were as good as my XC, or this would be the perfect gun. Probably because the compensator is much more effective on the staccato, while the legions sort of have this half way design for whatever reason, the XC still shoots way flatter and has a much more controllable impulse, it is overall faster for me (think consistent hits with 0.14 splits on the XC, vs .18 splits on the p226, keep in mind though, 9000 rounds with the XC and 2 range trips with the p226).
I still prefer the XC, overall.
But alas, the perfect gun doesn't exist, and these are truly great.
