I placed two orders. One for the H2 buffers while they were still in stock and placed a 2nd order for the H3 buffers that were already OOS. I was surprised today that my 2nd order for just H3 buffers is actually shipping. I expected that they would cancel due to higher prices.

Wow. So Midway raised their price after my prior posting. I just checked and Noveske raised their MSRPs. KAK still has H2 for $65 and contract overrun H3 for $85. H1 at KAK is $60 which seems overpriced compared to Noveske and KAK's H2 and H3 prices.
A lot of people who do builds with H1 to H3 buffers are going to be in shock once again.

everyone is doiong it too I noticed. last night BCM raised theirs to $115 for H, $165 for H3 and $90 for H1
I saw on Primary Arms that H1 and H2 buffers from BCM and SOLGW was $32.95 and $44.95 still, so I grabbed a couple more of each just to stick in a sock drawer. I feel really bad for most people who just want to tune a gun these days. sticker shock is huge. And supposedly China isn't even CLOSE to limiting out what they charge for tungsten (since they mine roughly 92% of the world's tungsten), so this could get a whole lot worse

I thought most manufacturers already shipped carbine buffers with their rifles and complete lowers. All mine have included carbine buffers so far but I have not purchased any with a short barrel.

Daniel defense, BCM, scionics, sons of Liberty gun works, Noveske, and most of the other major ship with h1s. But if you're buying a 10.5 or 11.5 in barrel they'll usually put in an H2 (except for DD)

My ACI Bravo and Ruger AR-556 came with carbine buffers. The Bravo was okay with them but better with Sprinco blue spring and H1. I put a Sprinco red spring and H3 in the Ruger to tame the felt recoil.

Oh God. Yeah I've never seen a Ruger ar 556 that didn't need at least a sprinco blue and an H2. They're brutally overcast on carbine length gas system

My Ruger AR-556 MPR has an 18" barrel with rifle length gas system and it had as much felt recoil as my DDM4V7 with 16" barrel with mid-length gas system with LaRue lower with carbine spring and buffer. Both of these rifles had much more felt recoil than my ACI Bravo with 16" barrel and mid-length gas system with carbine buffer and spring.
I put a Sprinco red buffer spring and H3 buffer in the DD/LaRue in addition to the Ruger MPR. I just can't use PMC Bronze with H3 buffers and expect LRBHO to work. I don't plan to run that ammo in these two rifles anyway.

oh yeah, I've replaced a ton of spring/buffers on the Ruger guns. they're solid enough budget gusn, but holy crap did Ruger put toilet bowls for gas ports in them lol.
I actually had a buddy that I know bring me his first AR this last week and it was a ruger AR-556. sucker was shooting at like 1:00 and making a BRUTAL bolt bounce sound when shooting, so I pulled out an H2 and a sprinco blue and guess what...it tamed it to 3:00 ejection. sucker probably could have used an H3 lol

What was really funny is when I stuck the Sprinco red buffer spring and an H2 buffer in my ACI Bravo that must have a more appropriately sized gas port. The cases landed just 1 ft away from the ejection port and remained on the shooting bench. I was surprised that with such weak ejection it still managed to strip rounds from the magazine and feed them into the chamber properly. I did not test the last round bolt hold open function but I'm sure that would not have worked. I laughed because the cases looked as if they had come out of a bolt action rifle with where they were landed.

a5h4 already are. a5h3 is going for around 80-90. if they use tungsten, they are bound to go up. buffers that only have steel weights like a carbine buffer “should” remain cheap.

Just FYI, it isn't possible to replace the weights on these buffers. My plan of buying two H2s to make an H1 and a H3 was a massive failure. It's simply impossible to remove the weights without destroying the buffer.

These aren't made by Noveske. They're Creed Monarch buffers that Noveske relabels.

The pics make it appear to be a normal buffer with a roll pin. Were you not able to drive out the roll pin for some reason? How did you end up getting the weights out?

You can easily drive out the roll pin however the bumper is non-removable for some reason. I was in disbelief so I called up Noveske and sure as shit, they're non-removable for that specific model.

yup, I STILL have no idea why they glued the tip in. it's not the end of the world, but it's annoying AF because it's not commonly done. I mean, they're still high quality buffers, but makes servicing them a bit more of a PITA if the tip disentigrates, or you want to make your own

Worst case you could remove the weights destructively and reuse an old carbine buffer housing. I have no clue if this is compatible with regular bumpers considering I wasn't able to remove the bumper.

I put it in a vice and tried jaw pliers, vice grips, hell, I even tried wedging a flathead between the plastic and the metal, nothing worked.

SOTAR replaced the buffers in all of his Ruger rifles in his secret shopper series with H2 buffers and Sprinco blue buffer springs. Both my River MPR and my DDM for V7 both have much more felt recoil than I care for when using them at my gun range so I'm trying to determine the best combination of springs and buffers for each. At this point I think I may be able to use a Sprinco red spring and H3 buffer for any ammo that I have other than PMC Bronze. With PMC Bronze I may need to drop to an H2 buffer in a Sprinco blue spring. This later combination would probably work best if I felt a need for it to be a battle ready rifle that can handle mud and other adverse conditions.
I have another rifle that I was tuning yesterday at the range and while it is not over gassed the felt recoil was harsher after using the other two rifles with heavier springs and buffers. So I swapped in a Sprinco blue spring and H1 buffer which helped. I'll have to test it more to see if an H2 buffer works better.

Back when I bought my KAK buffers from KAK themselves I think they had individual weights listed for $10 each but I am not sure they had any in stock. My memory is fuzzy but the price at KAK or maybe somewhere else may have been more like $20 each but seems too much.

Panic buyers gonna panic, they're always gambling on the wind. Could stock be drying up because DoW already started contracts knowing they would do this? Maybe. Could it just be from a bunch of panic buyers snagging everything that's cheap because they anticipate low consumer supply? Also maybe. Velocity and Wild Horse still have XTAC in stock. Things that aren't cheap 55gr seem to be in stock. The free ship/no taxes spots seem relatively dry of cases.The question is, does it matter either way? Can you wait a couple months and maybe eat an extra $75 a case if it really comes down to it?

just typical panic, which causes the panic buying, which causes the prices to sky rocket. They literally do it to themselves. If everyone didnt panic then prices would not skyrocket. Just like the stock market "there is going to be a stock market crash!" article put out by the news... which causes panic selling, which then causes a correction in the market.... so dumb.
