Disposable vapes outlawed. Vapes are now treated like propane tanks. Bring in an old one or pay a core charge to get a new one. Authorized dealers are the only ones allowed to refill them. (And install a fresh mouthpiece)

I've been saying this for years, and the only people they're going to have a problem with it are the assholes that throw them out of their window I can't tell you how many we see every time we walk our dogs. I do pick him up and throw them in a bucket . But not just that they should do that with people that buy cigarettes liquor bottles. Unfortunately we moved from a place that was expensive to live in but a nice area to a place that's all say more populated. Unfortunately we live a block away from a liquor store and a gas station so we get all the assholes that throw out there vapes their liquor bottles and their cigarette packs not to mention bags of fast food because they're just scumbag pieces of s*** and I have no problem saying that. Find dirty diapers you know what these people shouldn't even have a kid It has nothing to do with money it has everything to do with properly raising a child in knowing how to raise one. It's disgusting to see how things have changed and what a throw away world we live in these days. I smoke cigarettes and I still knock off the filters I know it goes into a landfill unfortunately but I feel like that's better than having trash all over the place

Disposables are such a wild concept to me. I've had the same $30 battery for 4+ years. Charges over usb c, takes 10 seconds every couple days to fill with a bottle, and the only waste is a coil every few weeks. Throwing away batteries constantly is such a weird concept

It’s a bit of a weird market in the UK right now, but there are better options if you want to avoid the disposable trap. I’ve been using Airscream and it’s surprisingly decent, feels more like a 'proper' device but still low-maintenance. https://www.airscreamuk.com/collections/airscream-bundle-offers-1

I used to buy disposables because every time I bought one, I told myself it was the last one before quitting.
Eventually bit the bullet and got a reusable vape and it's been a game-changer. No more trips to the recycling center, saving money, none of the squinting behind the gas station counter for which flavor, and buying coils is way easier than building them.

If only the majority of disposables went to a recycling center instead of vaguely near a dumpster
capnlatenight@reddit
That there is mostly the reason I stopped buying them.
One does not simply "throw away" a vape into normal trash cans, it MUST be put into the appropriate receptacle.
continuousBaBa@reddit
That's the way it used to be

Too late, you can stop new disposable ones but there are too many parts out there now to create an authorized network that would be used.
GreenStrong@reddit
The thing you propose exists in the UK. But people still use them disposably. This guy built a whole- house backup battery out of old vape batteries he got from shops who didn't know how to actually recycle them

That covers OPs less crazy idea of banning disposable vapes from an electronic point of view, the idea of “authorised dealers are the only ones allowed to refill” is definitely the crazy part…can you imagine the red tape and bureaucracy (that took too many attempts for autocorrect to get!) that would need to happen to implement that?
Sidebar: there should be a ban on words with too many vowels!

I actually really like this idea.

Yes, after the fire in Glasgow.
