Is it worth moving to Liverpool in 2026?

Is it worth it to move to Liverpool from Algeria?
I was born and used to live in the UK. My parents are Algerian immigrants but we're all citizens with passports and stuff. I'm planning to move back to the UK, Liverpool specifically after I graduate High School. I know that frankly the UK isn't that good of a country if you're not in London, and I've been wondering if, as someone living in Algeria, is it actually worth it to live in Liverpool?

If you’ve got this attitude then please don’t 👍

Sorry about that, at the time I just saw a lot of people say the UK isn't that good of a country if you're not in London. I know that sentiment isn't really that true, and honestly even if it was anything is better than Algeria get me out of there I hate it so much

You’re obviously young so whatever but learn to show some respect

OP really said this whilst mentioning the city they’re considering moving to is the city often named among the best in europe.

Didn't know that actually that's really nice. I wanted to be as objective as possible, but I often confuse being objective for being pessimistic. All my memories of Liverpool are good and I've never really heard anything bad about it I just let the internet's negativity problem get to me :/

OP here, I've been looking back on this post and I kinda regret it. I know the UK is a pretty good country it's just I had been hearing stuff that said stuff like "Britain's a dump" and "The UK is poorer than the poorest US state" and "London is the only good UK city" and other true but ultimately misleading statistics. The internet has a chronic negativity problem. Turns out ignoring your own memories and every personal anecdote you've gotten ever is NOT objectivity. Who would have guessed
Why Liverpool specifically? I was born there. Been a Scouser most of my life. Also sorry for any rudeness that's unintentional

Why Liverpool specifically?

Born there. Lived there most my life.

If the UK is such a dump in your opinion why not stay in Algeria?
iTAMEi@reddit
There’s an obvious which I won’t say because I’m not as rude as OP

Sry for any rudeness I've said it like five times here already but I sometimes confuse objectivity for pessimism

Sorry while the post was pretty pessimistic I still believe the UK is FAR better than Algeria. Also I tend to be pretty pessimistic. The UK is good, I just let YouTube videos and misleading statistics get in the way of literally every personal anecdote I've heard so sorry about that

"I know that frankly the UK isn't that good of a country if you're not in London."
That's not really true. It really depends on what you want from an area. If it's city life you want, there are lots of great alternatives to London that are significantly cheaper.

I know I just confuse being objective with pessimism sometimes. The UK is still good
