Aero is slowly going out of business is the issue.
It's a Ballistic Advantage barrel. They're fine for the money and often recommended to new builders that are looking to go cheaper.

They announced BA making their barrels after the acquisition, but IIRC they didn't have a CHF offering back then. I haven't dug to verify, but I remember reading here that the CHF barrels from Aero were made in house rather than by BA.

if you already assembled a couple of builds, then you can pass -- no point going with this barrel. if you are a novice and want to learn the basic of building your own rig, this is an OK starting point. - TBH, it might be better you start from a longer standard 14.5" or 16 " barrel

They're not at all bad uppers, but $110 is quite a premium for an upper receiver. Quality's not the issue; value is. I have a few parts from them and am very happy with them, but I didn't pay nearly this much.

If you want into the BAR Handguard ecosystem this is actually a pretty good price. The colors aren't the best but GL finding a BAR barrel nut atm, cheapest I found was a new company for like $80. It looks like an upgraded version but man that is a steep price. Add in the fact you don't need to time said barrel nut and it looks even better.

Stripped blem upper versus complete Aero enhanced upper. You're comparing potatoes to pears.
Assuming you bought a $15 upper receiver completion kit and a $36 bar nut, you'd be at $101 with a blem upper that you have to assemble yourself. Obviously if you don't intend to use the bar style handguards you have no need for the enhanced upper .

The BCM blems come with the parts, so they're unassembled assembled uppers.
But other than that you're right that this upper is different from a standard milspec upper and uses different handguards which are often cheaper. Personally I don't think the Aero Enhanced route is worth the extra money (especially given how high quality the BCM uppers are), but this is technically a different product.

Yeah it works with standard lowers. The only real difference in design is it has like a little lip that extends to sort of cradle the buffer retaining pin. I think it has a couple drain holes as well, but that doesn’t change the function.

Yeah these are what I use as well. The only lower I don’t use it with is the adm UIC. That little lip keeps it from screwing in completely. The UIC sort of tapers in at the buffer pin. Other than that these have been my go to. I actually grabbed a couple more because who knows if they’ll be available again. lol.
