Is living year round in a tent in the UK actually realistic?

I'm seriously considering something a bit unconventional and wanted to hear people's thoughts or experiences. Rent prices and energy costs in the UK just feel completely out of control right now. I'm a single guy and the idea of spending most of my income just to exist in a small flat honestly feels a bit depressing. It's made me think about whether there's a simpler and cheaper way to live for a while. One idea I've been considering is living long-term (potentially year-round) in a high-quality tent setup rather than renting a house or flat. Not a cheap festival tent - I'm thinking more like a durable canvas tent or something designed for longer-term camping. The goal wouldn't be "roughing it" for the sake of it, but more about: • Escaping high rent and energy bills • Living a slower and simpler lifestyle • Spending more time outdoors • Keeping living costs extremely low for a while I'm aware the UK has strict rules around wild camping, so I know you generally can't just set up a tent permanently on random land. Campsites are the obvious option, but I'm wondering what other possibilities might exist.
