Primary Arms has this for 3 dollars cheaper
but PA charged tax to my state while Cobra Arms did not, but PA's shipping was cheaper which made it it actually like 20 cents cheaper overall
YMMV -- probably a wash
WoozyKinkajou@reddit
Lanbo's is selling the LBE H3 for $40 + 10 shipping no tax
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
And if spending over $100 one can use the code FACEBOOK to same $5. Limit of one use of code per account.
I always have a number of items I want in my cart at Lanbo's and then hit order once there is something I want soon or it is something that I received an in stock notification for and I expect to sell out quickly.
LSofian@reddit
Have to pay for shipping :(
OpPlease@reddit
Is 2$ off a deal?
Mahlegos@reddit
Tungsten prices have shot up recent because reasons. Consequently, heavy buffers have too
vidlee@reddit
This is true. But here's a cheaper one?
https://www.lwrci.com/H3-Carbine-Buffer_p_146.html
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
That one is OOS when I attempt to add it to my cart
vidlee@reddit
Yeah, it sold out within an hour I posted. Animals.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
4.85 oz for it according to Primary Arms webpage versus 5.6 oz for the LBE H3 buffer. If the LWRCI is just 4.85 oz then it is closer to the weight of an H2 than an H3 buffer. An H2 should be 4.7 oz.
SadFinger3453@reddit
Description: h3 buffer weight is heavier than h2
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
4.85 oz according to listing at: https://www.primaryarms.com/lwrc-ar-15-h3-heavy-carbine-buffer
coffeeeenjoyer@reddit
That’s all you need to know
Ok_Gap708@reddit
$22+ for shipping
vidlee@reddit
Usps ground for me was 11.95. I also had a few other things in my cart as well
Pjdude@reddit
Juicy
Mahlegos@reddit
Real deal is always in the comments and all that.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Prices were rising even last summer when I was looking for H3. Many vendors were OOS and I read the due to lack of imports from Russia or somewhere else it was in short supply last year.
justjaybee16@reddit
I was looking for one at the end of the year and was having a hard time finding them in stock. My first inclination was that the 2 FRTs for $100 that Fudd Arms was slinging was causing a run on heavy buffers.
My PWS guns need an H3 to run the Arcfire, adding a Springco Blue or Red spring smooths it out a lot. It runs crazy fast with just heavy buffer.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Both my Ruger MPR and DDM4V7 rifles Woodstock triggers are over gassed so much that they can run reliably with either a heavy Sprinco red buffer spring and H2 or H3 buffer depending on whether or not I'm running weak ammo like PMC Bronze. So there is a bigger market for heavier buffers than just those buying that type of trigger. Many with shorter barrels need a heavier buffer. Some who run a suppressor may want to use a heavier buffer.
justjaybee16@reddit
Big Tungsten reacting to the FRT price wars.
Far-Boysenberry-1600@reddit
I’m so tired of winning already… we’re winning so much!! And have the hottest economy!
Cobra-Arms@reddit (OP)
Have you priced H3 buffers lately?
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
What? KAK actually has them in stock. I looked last summer and they seemed to be OOS for a long time. I looked a few weeks ago and they were listed as OOS.
embracethybeard@reddit
They just emailed today that they have contract overruns. I’ve been looking myself off and on and it’s been slim pickings in general.
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
I am glad I got a few H3 buffers last summer from another source or two.
Background_Event_612@reddit
Good recent article explaining the issue: https://www.outdoorlife.com/guns/why-tss-costs-so-much/
GreenEggplant16@reddit
Is there a reason we couldn’t just use lead in a buffer?
Cobra-Arms@reddit (OP)
I believe its been explored and determined that it was too soft and deformed over time with the repeated impacts from the bolt cycling. I may be wrong though..
Mar16celino@reddit
I have a 7.5in at with ocl polok suppressor. Adjustable gas block.
Will I need this?? having feeding issues (before adding block)
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Some guides State heavier buffers are needed for AR rifles that have shorter barrels. Do you even know what weight buffer came with your AR?
p8ntslinger@reddit
get the bcm or VLTOR version over this. They have spring-biased weights which are way more effective
MiguelLancaster@reddit
10.5" 300BLK -- do I want an H3 or an H2 buffer?
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Shorter AR15 rifles typically work better with heavier buffers. I assume the same would be true with 300 BLK AR as a 5.56 AR.
For an over gassed rifle I picked the heaviest buffer and heaviest spring that would still allow the BCG to go back far enough to properly strip the next round and also allow last round bolt hold open to work properly. In my over gassed Ruger MPR AR15 I found that I could use the heavier Sprinco red buffer spring and an H3 buffer unless I was shooting weak ammo like PMC Bronze. I had to switch to an H2 buffer with the PMC bronze to get the last round bolt hold open to work. I don't plan to shoot that ammo very often in that rifle if ever so I plan to run an H3 in that rifle unless in a SHTF scenario where I would switch it to one of my H2 buffers. That rifle is not the list of my top 5 or 10 self-defense firearms as I have others. If it were then I'd stick with an H2 buffer.
So many also go with a heavier buffer spring in addition to a heavier buffer weight. I also have some Sprinco blue buffer springs that are heavier than a standard buffer spring but not as heavy as a red spring. We may end up with extra spare parts just so they can try different combinations of buffers and springs to properly tune our rifles with their weakest ammo we may shoot.
samiam0295@reddit
An adjustable gas block
Capable-Progress-960@reddit
both
Foxxy__Cleopatra@reddit
Basically the same price as just buying the 3x Tungsten weights alone.

Primary arms has the BCM mk2 (A5) T4 buffer with 4 tungsten weights for 64 bucks
kscoolaid@reddit
As well as a blem A5 tube for $24... but they only had expensive rifle springs in stock.
https://www.primaryarms.com/cmc-triggers-ar15-buffer-tube-a5-cosmetic-blem
Exclusivecostcomembr@reddit
They’ve got the whole BCM mk2 t2 system with castle nut and QD endplate for 104. It is the T2 so 5.3oz the T4 is 7.4oz.
T2
kscoolaid@reddit
Nice. Lanbos is sold out, but they've had great prices on BCM lately. I think I clened them out of T1/T2 buffers. I've got 10 builds on my plate right now.
therealruin@reddit
This seems important?
Is this a true limitation or a CYA thing?
brs_one@reddit
You definitely don’t want to use that buffer (or any other “A5”-length buffer) in a .223/5.56 AR with a carbine-length receiver extension
Foxxy__Cleopatra@reddit
Real deal. Comments. Always.
therealPangea@reddit
gmr has h3 buffers for $30
Grvin@reddit
Theirs are steel bodied with steel weights. The lack of Tungsten keep the price low, but I'm curious if the weight distribution and the now changed dead blow effect changes anything.
kissmygame17@reddit
Can you explain why the weight distro would matter since it's traveling on a single plane (provided that's true, I'm just assuming)
BigWillyTX@reddit
Buffer weights move back and forth, creating a dead blow effect from that momentum. It's not about weight distribution so much as having weights that are dense enough to be sufficiently heavy and also have the room to slide around inside the buffer housing. Tungsten is 2.5x the density of most steels so tungsten weights will take up much less room for the same weight. This allows a longer travel and increases the dead blow effect.
Hellsing971@reddit
I came across this today looking for tungsten...
https://tromix.com/product/ar-15-h3-buffer-carbine/
My main issue with all the steel and brass ones was the dead blow weights were too light and less effective. This one explicitly states they found a way to make it all steel and the dead blow portion is the same weight as the would-be tungsten. No idea how it runs but it seemed liked the most appealing of the non-tungsten H3 options.

Primary arms has the BCM mk2 (A5) T4 buffer with 4 tungsten weights for 64 bucks
muffinman1604@reddit
Pretty good deal with everyone raising prices due to tungsten costs going up.
This is what most people will want for pewpewpew triggers
Dayshawn11@reddit
Kept giving me issues about my address not matching my bank when checking out. Weird it’s the only place that’s done that, and with two different cards
Cobra-Arms@reddit (OP)
sending you a chat...
Ok_Gap708@reddit
Just grabbed two, there are many online but specifically 5.6 oz tungsten weighted aluminum body is a pretty good deal. Couldn't find any others for this price. Shipping sucks though I came out to be $12 total of $108 for two
