I want to get away from my family for the time being. What should I do?

Others have already given good advice. Whatever you are feeling now won't last. Things might seem like a total disaster now with no hope in sight, but it's hardly ever that bad. I don't know what happened at school, but if you had any hand in something, I would suggest you are fully open and honest about what happened/what you did, own up to what you did, and then DO BETTER. Don't hang out with kids whom you somehow always end up doing bad stuff with. Parents always like to say other kids are a negative influence on their kids, but some parents are parents to the negative influences. Others may negatively influence you, and you may also negatively influence others. Own whatever it is that YOU did and that YOU contributed to, and cut off the kids that are no good for you to hang out with. It might be hard to make new friends especially if you have a reputation at school/in your area, but if you behave well and act like a normal, nice person, people will see you differently over time. You're young, people change. Whatever you did, whatever happend, you can change it around. I don't know what your local culture is like, but there's nothing wrong with becoming a "nerd" if staying mostly indoors to stay away from trouble is the only way for you to not go down a bad path. The UK is scary with serious violence even knife crime also amongst younger teens. I wouldn't ever want to voluntarily put myself into that kind of crowd. Find ways to entertain yourself that do not involve interaction with "bad apples". There's lots of indoor stuff you can do like homework, reading arts and crafts, learning a musical instrument, building scale models, doing jigsaws, playing on your mobile phone/game system, board games, learning life skills from parents or older siblings or other family members (preparing food/cooking/baking, how to wash dishes, how to do laundry, how to make a weekly budget for groceries). Your local youth hub or community centre will have activities on you can join. And once you are old enough you can get a weekend/evening job. You can even do odd jobs for a bit of cash now like washing cars, pulling weeds, that kind of stuff. I am sorry you are in such a rough spot right now, but please DO BETTER. You are only 13 and there's lots you can't control about your life, I get that because I was 13 once too. But within the things you CAN control, choose good behaviour, choose working towards your future, choose turning the other cheek/shrugging and moving on. I have had so much verbal abuse hurled at me for dressing goth, but I always ignored it. I'm a woman so luckily was never targeted for physical confrontation, but insults are obviously not nice. But I just shrugged and moved on with my life. Please do the same when people call you names or call your family members something bad or when they try to get you to react or taunt you. If no one is touching you or literally screaming in your face, just ignore them.
