Local Movers Recommendations?

Moving from Carrollton to East Dallas.. does anyone have any local/small business moving company recommendations?

Thankful for this thread! We used Dallas Area Movers this past weekend and couldn’t have had a better experience! I spoke with one of the owners and pricing was exactly as expected given the quote I received when booking. Straightforward and no hidden fees. The 3 movers were exceptional and we could tell they have a lot of moving experience. 10/10!
Here’s their website for reference:

I personally used Vector Moving and it went well no delays, no damage and pricing made sense. That’s really all I was looking for. We had a bit more stuff than expected so it ran longer, but it just added time instead of random fees.

We used Square Cow Moovers for a local move last year and had a good experience.

I don't have a positive recommendation but it'd be quicker to move everything via unicycle than to hire All My Sons.

This cracked me up 🤣 never was brave enough to hire All My Sons from the horror stories I’ve heard.
Best experience I’ve had with movers in Dallas is the DAM Moving Company. Owned by a couple of great guys that seem to really give a DAM (pardon my poor sense of humor 😅)
But really: fair price, nothing damaged, the guys were friendly and smiling the whole time. Would highly recommend!

All My Sons was bad. Booked three guys and a 26ft truck to move a two-bedroom apartment. Moving day comes around and we get a call saying no-one will be showing up. Then we get another call to say forget that. A rental truck with two people shows up late. One is a kid on his first day of his first job, I'm not sure how to describe the other without saying something that could be taken as libelous. The kid breaks a couple of things trying to take too much at once, strapping things too tightly and not knowing how to use a dolly. Experience things. The fun part was when he walked out of the bathroom at the new place and asked if we had toilet paper he could use... Yeah, it's still on the truck.
They go an hour over their time. We got a phone call that not only were we expected to pay the price for three guys even though they only sent two (one and a half really), but we also had to pay an extra charge because they were slow. After pointing out all the issues, the manager offered to reduce it by something silly like $20.
At the end of it, they managed to move half an apartment in their allotted time, plus an extra hour. My wife and I moved the rest in a 9ft U-Haul that evening.

Another vote for The Dallas Area Movers
Used them twice and have sent a few friends their way too and everyone’s had a great experience.
Pretty sure they’ve got like 400+ 5-star reviews and basically nothing below that, which is kinda wild.
Hard to go wrong with them!

I’ve used Dallas Area Movers several times now, and every experience has been excellent.
They’re locally owned, and the owners are fantastic! You can genuinely tell they take pride in what they do.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for reliable, quality movers!

Firehouse Movers in The Colony are great.

Came here to say Firehouse Movers. They've moved us to and from College Station and all over DFW over the past 10 years that my wife and I have been married. They move things really great. Packing and unpacking services are hit-or-miss, but the moving is top-notch.

Einstein Moving is the best. Amazing service, great communication, transparent pricing.
Some cost less, some cost more. None are better.

Same. They took a lot of care. Great service.

I’ve used them twice. They destroyed an antique radio that was handed down to me from my great grandparents from the depression. I emailed and called, they never made one attempt to get back in touch with me. Never again.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Heirlooms are impossible to replace.
It’s not the experience I had, and their online ratings are 4.9 across the board. But not perfect.
I’d encourage you to call the office again. All moves are 100% covered for breakage.

We've used A and B movers on every move over several years. Never disappointed with their effort and speed

They have moved my family, my sister and even my husband's ex wife. They will pack your stuff for you with me. Beyond beyond and they are reasonable.
aclinejr@reddit
I have moved 4 times with them. I think the average cost was about $800 with truck and 3-4 guys everything moved within 2-4 hours. They wrap and help pack as well.
