S&W 59 series mags will work if you remove the magazine disconnect from the Star which is an easy modification. Mec-Gar 15 rounders will work out of the box, the 17 rounders require some modification by grinding down the outside of the mag body a bit to clear the trigger bar.

For anyone unaware of why people are excited about this, Star is a Spanish state manufacturer, and this pistol is one of several models that they made for the Spanish Armed Forces.
The 30M is a rock solid cold war era service pistol built for real world mud and blood military use.

I bought an excellent condition from another vendor and I wasn't impressed, gun is in great shape but looks to be refinished, the serial is ground off from the barrel too. I bought a "good" condition from Centerfire and it's easily very good + condition. Remember the Beretta M1951s from earlier this decade? Yeah these Stars are easily just as good of a buy, if not the surplus deal of the decade.

Easily one of the most reliable Saturday Night Special guns out there. These were quite popular back in my day. I had a super redneck friend (long since deceased) who carried one tucked in his jeans, no holster.
This is probably what they cost back in the ‘90s.

I’m obsessed with duty size wonder 9s this is one of the heaviest in my collection. Really cool gun for the money, if you like you some Cold War era pistol goodness this is definitely one of them. It’s like a sig 22X with inverse slide and frame like a CZ75.

I used a steel wire brush, came in a pack with a brass and plastic brush from harbor freight. The steel is so mild that scratches to the finish are not an issue, but your results may vary.

I can confirm, these guns are legit. Bought the excellent version for $289.99 shipped. Gun was in super nice condition, just needed to add new paint to the sights. Grips were kinda worn and the rubber grips were preventing me from dropping mags. Got some factory new grips for $30. About 10 minutes of minor fitment with a dremel and file to get them to pop on all the way, and golden. Also, the magazine disconnect is stupidly easy to remove!

Got mine a couple weeks ago from Centerfire. Shipped fast and was in very good condition. Bore was clean and the front of the slide and frame had the slightest of holster wear. Easily the best bargain surplus on the market since the Carcano boom.
