They seem to be absolutely nothing like the Cloud of the past from everything Im seeing. Over promised, under fulfilling, and having the issues Aero had ages ago where they cant get anything out of the door in the quantities they seemed to have promised.
Maybe they'll pull out of this, but with Surefire, Modlite, Streamlight, Olight, and Arisaka/Malkoff also existing with most of them being compatible with each other's parts? Vs Cloud's always proprietary everything?

I literally only bought mine because the LGS I go to had it. I was about to buy an X300 and my guy goes "Yo, I got one of the new Clouds, we need to test it and see if we want to carry them, I'll sell it to you at cost." So I grabbed it, I personally like it, but not enough to wait for than 4 days for it to arrive via mail.

I'm not as miffed about proprietary things anymore, especially in the WML space. It seems we've pretty much maxed out the current capable output from a 18650 or 2x CR123 WML on balance with thermal regulation and a respectable runtime. Pistol lights have been tied to 2x CR123's forever as well, Streamlight is doing decent things with their output with their battery.
As some point we a shift to a better battery is going to be necessary to keep advancing the industry.

Aero is still having this issue, they’re rapidly circling the drain, have laid most folks off, stopped paying insurance premiums for employees that remain, can’t get anything manufactured. Only a matter of time. I suspect Cloud is on the same road.

my gas cap was bent and warranty replaced it immediately for my rein 2. Just ordered a rein 3.0 just over a week ago and it shipped. They maybe struggling a lil but they showed me outstanding customer service and quick shipping time.

The REIN 3.0 is still industry leading 1k lumens, 100,000 candela.
Modlite just caught up with OKWv2 1.3k lumens, 95,000 candela, Surefire Turbos are below both at 700 lumens, 70,000 candela.
The HRT AWL at 1.7k lumens, 90,000 candela is the only other light on the market that really competes, and they probably have like a 0.00001% market share.

Your product can be good on paper but if you have QC issues and struggle to get enough products out the door with horrendous lead times. Then yes I will say they've falling behind the curve.
Surefire are 700 lumens and 100,000 candela but you can order one with no lead times and have a longer run time than the Rein 3.0 being 65 minutes compared to 2.75 hours with the Surefire.

Absolutely crazy shift. They used to be great. I still think the OWL is a great light, and one of the only things they truly did differently. No idea why they discontinued it. The REIN was an incredible light too. Used to be all I’d buy. But I was so disappointed with the REIN 3. And ever since that light was released they went downhill FAST. I’m not buying anything from them again.

The product is excellent. Buying a CD rein 3.0 for $220 during Black Friday is the best bang for your buck light you can possibly get idc what anyone else says. But it gets hard to defend them. Convinced my buddy to buy one because ive purchased 3 and had amazing experiences. He bought one and it took two months to receive the item. No communication just a sales add and them pretending like they had them in stock while promoting a sale.

I have one on my Walther PDP, I actually like it. I run the x300's on everything else and picked up the Cloud pretty cheap so I figured I'd just give it a try. I'm perfectly fine with it, but I also really don't give a shit about weapon lights so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I have one and really like it. It’s super bright, punches through decently dark window tint, has enough spill to work a residential room, enough throw to ID someone at distance. The main con, which would keep me from using it as a duty light is run time. It’s only 40 mins. If you’re working a 12 hr night shift and you’re busy, or on an extended manhunt, it could die. And they don’t sell their proprietary batteries yet so I had to buy someone else’s battery for it. It fits a Safariland 6000 series rds holster for a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 with no problems.

I dislike mine as a tool, disregarding cost and wait, for two reasons. The first is that mine has an activation flicker where I hit the switching in either momentary or constant more and the light flashes on, then off for a fraction of a moment, then on in whichever mode I put it in. The second reason is I dislike the switching itself. I have small thumbs, and the "push forward" style they built is at the edge of what I think I can do on the fly. I find myself much more comfortable with a push down style, with Surefire's X300 being fine with old extended paddles that Phlster does not make anymore (goddamnit), Modlite's affirmative paddles being better, and Streamlight's new TLR-1 HPX switches being my favorite handgun WML switches ever.
Pre-ordered to see what it would be like and give recommendations to friends. I do not recommend it to friends or strangers. Sits on a gun I'm offering to sell to friend who's new to guns, with a clear explanation of my complaints but he has no background to complain from.

I had the same issue and I emailed Streamlight and Mark from streamlight fixed both of mine and upgraded the spring and dissesmbly button to a stronger one compatible with the SL 6000 series holster for free. Its been fine so far hasnt turned off on recoil however on the left side switch on one of my lights, they forgot the clicky part of a button. It still acitvates but Im not sending in my light again.

The folks over at Low Light Defense (affiliated with Werkz Holsters) put together a technical review back when these were first making their way into owners’ hands. The results weren’t flattering compared to the performance claims made by Cloud Defensive, but the tradeoffs in performance for the simpler logistics of the single rechargeable 18350 seemed reasonable to me, nevermind the fact that competitors like the Modlite PL350 are hard to find in-stock right now.

I love all my cloud lights, even my old cloud rail with the remote switch cutout. I use my chicro xl DAILY. I’ve used the MCH regularly at -30 temps for prolonged periods of time. Rein 1.0, Rein 2.0, I even still use the goddamn ATB that was an impulse buy from my first order many years ago. All that being said, the last thing I ordered took many months to fulfill. That was a new development. Definitely don’t order if you aren’t patient.
