I want to know if any of them seem reputable. Or if its generally known that their crap...?

So, just want to say, I've been shopping around for lots of electric mobility stuff since 2010. I started with a weight-sensing electric skateboard that I bought off Kickstarter and traveled around the world while I was a sailor, flying and having port calls in about 50 different countries. When the battery lost a cell, and the company I bought it from went bankrupt and was incorporated into Meepo I think? I started trying out e-bike and e-scooter brands like Rad Power, Aipas, and Hiboy.
I gotta say, Hiboy has taken a noticeable slice of space out of my garage, haha. I started with the Hiboy P6, and so far it's at 3,500 miles and still going strong on its original battery. It was even my daily commuter for over two years and handled Costco runs with a trailer and aftermarket cargo rack.
The P6 inspired me to try out the Aipas A6-D cargo bike and Rad Power Radwagon 4. The AIPAS' rear dropouts stripped out, and customer service sucked, and refused to help us with purchasing or supplying replacement parts. So we got it stripped down for parts, and it's been rotting on a hook for a couple of years now. The Radwagon has been ok, it was really pricy and doesn't have the range we need to get to the grocery stores, much less Costco and get back with the goods since it's a single battery, but we made an adapter plate and power transfer switch to be able to hot swap batteries from the Aipas batteries while on the ride.
After some issues with the rad wagon and repeated cars hitting the P6. I think in 2023 alone I was hit about 10 times, and the only thing I had to replace was a crank arm and the front fork, totally fantastic customer service! Our opinion of Hiboy has been steadily going through the roof. My partner bought a KS4 scooter, and I bought a couple of Ex7s that collectively have over 6,000 miles. I tend to ride one while fixing the other for commuting convenience. Hiboy customer service has continued to support my p6 over 4 years now, the ex7s for about 2 years now. Because of the customer service and price points, I definitely recommend seriously considering Hiboy. The price points and performance have made them fantastic investments for my family.

This gives me confidence about my purchase of the Hiboy EX6. Just ordered it a few days ago and I’m super excited. Going into this I’m going to be extremely conscious about maintenance on my brakes and cables as well as keeping the chain clean. Also looking at installing hydraulic brakes once the originals wear out. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your P6 and EX7’s and I hope you get thousands more miles out of them!

we bought two gotrax e-bikes last year. we love them. then a month ago one stopped working, the peddle assist and throttle. called customer service and go Chinese recording. emailed and received answer in middle of night, obviously from china. they sent a part that they ”thought” was issue. nope. now we get another error message. they don’t have the part that they think would work, could we be patient, they ask. well like I said it’s been over a month and we are down a bike. we emailed two days ago saying just send us a new bike and we will send this one back. no answer as of it. only 8 months old. can’t recommend gotrax because of service. no bike shops would touch it. the other bike still works great.

Hiboy's manufacturing is a little shoddy. I had to get both the main wiring bundle and brakes replaced on my EX-6, and now after just over a year the battery is clearly degraded.

Most of them won't last long.

Depends on your budget. I have isinwheel Gotrax and TST. They are fine

I’ve had a Gotrax too and honestly it’s fine for casual riding, just like you said; don’t expect much support if something goes wrong. For cheap ebikes, it seems like reliability is okay, but customer service and parts availability can be a headache.
Worried_Document8668@reddit
nope, all just oem bikes for future landfills
theLaLiLuLeLol@reddit
don't

I bought a Gotrax for a winter bike a few years ago and zero problems. I knew going in that when I have a problem I probably won't have any support and possibly parts availability problems. Lack of support may be a problem with some brands. Hopefully some others have experience with the others. I also have a Rad, poor customer service and dangerous battery, and have bought a couple Lectrics. Lectric has had incredible customer service.

However, the brand premium of major electric bicycle brands is quite excessive.

Brother, believe me. You get what you pay for; in other words, there's no such thing as a truly high-quality product at a low price.
