Rates spiked tremendously. 3 bucks a mile was a low ball offer. I was running cat litter from Kansas city to jessup PA for 7000 to 9000 a load for chewy.
Oh.... holy fuck... I understand it being a premium, but that sounds excessive. Sounds like you could've seriously cashed in. I just started a few months ago and I've been running thousands of miles a week with a partner to get my hours to upgrade employment. I am getting paid like $600 a week, because I need experience and this is the only place that would hire me fresh out of school. I really need to figure out ways to navigate the field, because while I have loved driving. This training pay is astoundingly bad.
No, I was being sarcastic never work at super ego. They’re super fucking scammy.
JB Hunt isn’t that bad it just depends on what account you’re going to work for and who the management is
Yeah I figured. I work for covenant right now, and the training period is kind of ridiculous. 185 hours of drive time where they basically pay you minimum wage. I also don't want to team drive either, so doubly shit.
I mean I know trainin and I know teaming sucks dick. But there’s lots of companies out there that don’t suck asshole.
If you survive 3-6 months it’ll open a lot of doors and you won’t have to worry about going through training again.
That's the goal. I'm just not exactly sure what the next steps are. I was supposed to be hired at McLane but they found an accident on my MVR from 2 and a half years ago and rescinded the job offer. That was kind of the perfect setup bc it woulda been nice to be home and I don't mind the exercise of touch freight.
I mean, I live in a suburb of the highest population area in my state, but that state is Iowa, so I don't think we have anything that qualifies as that lol
Absolutely it qualifies as something. You go to the grocery store and you see soda and beer you go to the minimart and you see soda and beer you go to tiny little pizza places and you see soda and beer even and Rinky dinky Iowa.
Everywhere you go that means that there is a distribution center somewhere nearby unfortunately for you you live in the biggest Metropolitan area in your state so there’s 100% multiple distribution centers for Keurig, Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Anheuser Bush, and all the other beverage delivery companies
Go on Coca-Cola website or Keurig Dr Pepper or Pepsis website and look for truck driving jobs. I used to work for Coca-Cola now you’re probably end up working for a franchise group that doesn’t really make a difference and I I got hired cause I just applied right there on the Internet and I remember I just googled Coca-Cola truck driving jobs and one just popped up for the local area when I was living there.
Now I will be honest with you. I only lasted a month and a half working as a beverage delivery driver because that fucking sucks and it is the worst job I’ve ever had in my life, but if you’re looking for something that’s home daily and you’re not soft hands like I am, but I’m sure it’ll work for you.
