It’s really easy to get case mouths that are not perpendicular with the Giraud. This tool is for precision ammo, the Giraud is a large volume tool. They both have their place but aren’t competing against each other.

The frankford arsenal case prep will do all 3. For only $200 I'd take that even if the chamfer and deburr is an extra step that lasts 5 extra seconds per case after trimming.

I figured as such but wanted to be sure. I'm currently getting my reloading list together and what's nice is that the more I research the more I'm finding solid components that are more cost affordable.

I don't understand the appeal when LittleCrowGunworks has the drill mounted ones. You could have one for every caliber you reload for less than this and never have to fiddle with setting them again. Giraud makes his own version of the drill mounted ones but in select calibers. Don't ask him if he'd consider other calibers or he'll go on some dumb fucking boomer rant about it.

WFT takes a lot of finger strength. Prepping 100 pieces makes my hands cramp and hurt like a mfer.
My Henderson Precision trimmer takes zero effort. RCBS and Hornady basically ripped off Henderson.

Aside from Hornady being a blunt ripoff of the Henderson model which I know RCBS and Henderson worked together on this unit, is there there anything better on this unit vs the Hornady? Haven't found anything different about it besides people say don't buy the Hornady model because they did Henderson dirty, but I can find the Hornady for sub 500 shipped to my door.

Seems like the big difference is that the rcbs one has a "pilot" like their other case trimmers, which in my experience is a downgrade. If everything is lined up properly you shouldn't need one, and it can damage the case mouth you just got done cleaning and resizing.

Yeah, I'm personally not buying either any time soon, if at all. Their launch price is way too expensive for what they are. I'm sure they'll come down eventually and if i do buy one it'll be after they work the kinks out.
I believe the rcbs might also share the locking mechanism for the shell holder with the trim pro 2. That being said, if I had to pick I'd probably go with the hornady one, because I hate both of the features I mentioned on my RCBS trimmer. Hornady sucks for their theft, and also their progressive press is notorious for problems. I wouldn't personally trust them for when it starts getting complicated.

Need is very subjective when it comes to reloading I'd say. If you value your time and just want to have everything done in one go with ease then you will "need" something like this as its a 3-in-1 machine vs a hand held operation with 3 stations.
