Derya arms (WARNING DON'T BUY YET)

Okay, so first things first, I bought the TM 22lr standard rifle in August of 2025, and I have only been to the range twice, and it is already having problems.
1st: From my most recent visit to the range, I was having ejection issues. At first, I thought it was an ammo problem or a maintenance issue, but it was an issue with the firearm.
2nd: On the 28th of February, I started cleaning to see what the issue was, but I didn't know that the extractor had already started to rust and the corrosive protective finish was being scratched off.
3rd: The AI customer support wasn't helpful, and I have been bummed out because this is the first gun I ever bought, and it wasn't a very good experience.
If you are having a similar issue, please type it down below this thread.

You try calling their customer service number? They usually answer pretty quick and I hear they take care of their customers with their life time warranty. They also have a subreddit r/deryaarms you can post this in

This right here. Bought a tm22 , issues from day one. Ftf, fte.... Contacted customer service, they apologized, sent a pre paid shipping label and 4 days after receiving it I get a phone call from their lead gunsmith in florida. Super nice guy. First he apologized profusely for the issue with my rifle, then Explained what the issue was and everything he did to get the rifle working 100%. Said he was shipping my rifle back to me with extras in the box, which wasn't necessary at all. He told me to keep his number handy if I ever need anything else. Never have I ever received customer service like that for anything, firearm or other product, it's always a fight with most companies who are usually looking for a way out of the warranty on some loophole, but not this one. Derya customer service down in florida is top notch and they should give that gunsmith a raise. Say what you want about Turkish firearms but I've had great luck with SAR, Girsan, and now Derya. The amazing thing is this is a $200 gun, and they treated me like I bought a ferrari.

Bought a Turkish dy9z and it is a POS.

The amount of work I had to put into my tm22 is crazy for 500 bucks gun. But I still like it. After about 3000+ rounds, it seems like I managed to work most of the kinks out. Started off with guard threads completely stripped, had to drill and tap for a bigger machined bolt. Then was having ejection issues, stripped the bcg apart and found that right ejector arm was pinched in the groove, managed to increase the clearances and never had this issue after. Then the charging handle started bending, turned out the bolt stopper pushed the rubber padding into the buttstock and allowed the bolt to travel farther back causing the charging handle to bang on the back of a slit, the fix was a new rubber and a washer to cover up buttstock hole. Then the charging handle itself was annoying to work with, found a great thumb bolt that works perfect as a replacement.
All of these thing could have been easily designed and engineered better, but at the end of the day, turks are notorious for having issues. Rusting is concerning though, I had my tm22 since 2023 and never had any rust issues.

Derya Arms is a Turkish company and the vast majority of Turkish import firearms are known to be garbage.
Fit-Development4154@reddit
completely wrong
HeloRising@reddit
There's a reason "Turkshit" shotguns are a thing.
Look, I'm sure there are decent Turkish imports that exist. The problem is most of them are bad and it gets hard to sort them out when the majority are bad.

Well I guess you learn something new very day I guess

I think you might had bad gun. I currently own Derya tm-22 Flash, put 7k+ rounds. Only ammo related issues on mine to test it out, CCI is the best with least issues while Remington is the “safest” cheap ammo but still has issues.
WVGunsNGoats@reddit
Which ammo were you using? Derya suggests breaking the TM22 in with about 150 or so rounds of high velocity .22lr.
ArceusTwoFour_Zero@reddit
Why didn't you just get a Ruger 10/22?
Puzzleheaded_Age3269@reddit (OP)
Alright, I didn't know that Derya Arms and other Turkish manufacturers aren't good. It was a first-time buy. I don't need to be told the same thing 30 times.
RecoveredSack@reddit
Yeah you were only told twice, but I’ll make it three times. You get what you pay for, you bought small so you got a bad gun. Simple as that. There are good budget guns to be had, but they are still more than you spent on that I’d be willing to bet. You just gotta wait a bit longer, save up and do research in the meantime.
BlindMan404@reddit
Then you probably shouldn't have posted an obvious and broadly known fact on Reddit, because now you're going to be told the same thing a hundred times.
Do some basic research before you buy a gun next time.

You were told twice. Welcome to the internet where your posts are seen by 10s of thousands of people. Buy a 10/22 and give this one to friends when they ask to come shooting.

At this point I am too tired to argue but I was working with a tight budget and this is what I went with and secondly I forgot the password to this account so I wasn't able to really ask

Consider it a learning experience, weve all got a few. Clean it, oil it and make the best of it.

You bought a crappy gun from a crappy company. This is pretty well known here. You got what you paid for unfortunately
