Having recovered (for now) from prostate cancer and subsequent open heart surgery (a triple bypass) I am now crippled with chronic back pain. 😢 -oo-

My contract is ending, I am trying to scrape together some consulting gigs, but the bottom line is that I probably need to pivot my career.

Government skills boot camp - programming?

I don't think so. Very vulnerable to AI, and I would be up against people who have been doing it for 30 years. I would like to retrain as an Anglican priest, but that might not be possible at this point.

Literally not being able to sleep. There's no particular reason for it. I just can't seem to get more than 3-4 hours per night.

Try hypnosis videos on YouTube first especially those which make you feel like you’re drifting down a river etc . Then try a session with a real person. Usually works in 1-3 sessions - it’s not an on ongoing commitment. I’d give it a go because 3-4 hours is wild and likely to put you to an early grave if you can’t get it under control. I’m up now because my toddler has a tummy-ache so I have no choice, but generally he sleeps through the night now now

Tax year end because my job is linked to it, and if I miss something it would require compensation be made. I’ve come to accept all the other crap like health issues so that doesn’t bother me now

I was gonna say like 1000 things but then realised they were either rlly small things, things I probably shouldn't mention, or things that everyone's experiencing

(Not an answer to the post that's why I'm replying to myself but) I keep forgetting what my flair is, thinking that it's too cringe and that I should change it, then actually realising it's not that bad and I actually like it

Oh wow. That knocked the wind out of the dumb comment I was about to post. I am so sorry you are going through that. When I went through my own cancer battles I used "at least it's me not one of the family" as my crutch, so I can't even imagine dealing with that. I hope everyone is doing ok. Your son of course, but you and your family too.

My biggest worry is that I am recovering from open heart surgery (triple bypass) and need exercise to aid my recovery. However, I am crippled with sciatica making exercise challenging. -oo-

Money and monthly expenses in general, should I take the risk again for a higher our job, how long I should keep renting alone, when I should throw my lot in with a girlfriend… All good things in life.
