yes, if it doesnt involve injury or death. anything that can be settled in civil court, without police involvement is a civil matter. this can be solved in civil court with video proof and insurance info. most cops will tell you its a civil matter as long as the vehicles arent obstructing the flow of traffic. most times the only thing they enforce is the exchange of insurance by the party in the wrong.
Well I know for a fact in Minnesota and South Dakota they actually do shit and make a report and and take the other guys insurance and all that information. So maybe you had bad luck or just a cop that didn't care

Saw a ego transport (indian team drivers pulling ego trailer) smack a brand new off the lot longnose pete or kenworth. Took out the front end and ripped oout the steer axle... ego truck tried taking off but got boxed in at the loves. Law enforcement responded almost immediately about 10 minutes after the incident.
He’s a TRUCK! He’s parked in the correct place, but personally I’m when I have a bobtail I won’t take a spot overnight. I only park it during the day because they’re empty as hell during the day. I try to be considerate… I dislike arguing with someone and have no idea what they’re saying to me. I walk away feeling defeated bc I couldn’t argue back properly.

This is what I was thinking. Because I do this as well when in a bob tail. I always go about 10 feet back from the truck beside me. This is to allow others to back in easier, and less chance they hit my front. It’s really the best preventative you can do to detour an accident. I’m very particular where I park, and I can’t even sleep if I feel like I’m leaving myself open for an accident of any sort.

Yeah...ive been seen a bunch of 2 week CDL classes and have been thinking how legal any of it is a legit one took a good while to get after the classes and everything needed.
I got a class a through cr england a decade ago and stopped driving a few years back. Recently got a new CDL from a local school and literally no one in that school should be behind a wheel.
I do not have a CDL but my grandfather got his when I was younger and best I could remember he took a 6 month course where they had him do book work and parking lot training before he ever hit the asphalt.

I'm guessing he saw the end of the trailer and just whipped in thinking the next spot was empty. Don't know why he didn't stop in time but he was probably moving way too fast for parking lot conditions and got startled when he realized the spot wasn't completely empty. Another great example of why you always back into your spots at the truck stop.

I think OP or whoever parked the bobtail did a great job. They pulled up A BIT so you could get in easier, while also being back far enough to not mistake it as an empty spot

Ive been hit by three Indians. Each time, they tried to blame me even though I was parked and not moving. Dashcam plainly showed them backing into me or taking the turn too sharp and clipping my truck.

He does need that spot. This is a test area with car parking and everyone else. A bobtail qualifies as part of the everyone else. He isn't allowed to park in the vast parking side.
Why is the bobtail parked in the middle of the spot instead of being pulled forward? Not saying its right for thr other guy to hit you, but you made it way more likely by not pulling forward all the way.
This makes it easier for trucks to pull in and out of the spots when it’s a tighter lot, the Volvo driver did not utilize the ample amount of space on both sides. Probably an untrained illegal licensed driver, this type of parking is actually taught at some reputable trucking schools.
Plus if a bobtail is parked in the middle of a spot you are actually helping other drivers who want to back in next to you. Your giving them more room to back their trailer.
He could park all the way at the back of the spot, it doesn’t matter. If the other driver can’t get into the spot without hitting the truck next to him, he shouldn’t be driving.
