What is the most satisfying case of the “experts getting it wrong?”.

To me, Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson in 1990. Every pundit, the media and boxing authorities were all made to look like jackasses, when someone that no one gave a thought to knocked out the “Baddest Man on the Planet.” There is a myth that Douglas won because Tyson hadn’t prepared (as if that would be an excuse anyway, like failing a test because you didn’t study). The reality is that Tyson had evolved into quite a one-dimensional fighter, whether it was the quick KO’s or something else, he didn’t really know what to do when an opponent 1) Was not scared of him and 2) Fought an evasive fight, instead of letting them steam-roll them. He got beaten by a better boxer, not just someone who got lucky. The glory belongs to Douglas alone, he proved everyone wrong, and it remains arguably the best ever upset.
