Playing competitive and story games both on 1440p monitor 240hz, and I want to upgrade the cpu to the 9800x3d and the mobo to Asus Rog Strix B850 F , so do you recommend this upgrade and will I feel thr performance difference between the processors or its just waste of money?
Also I really want to upgrade the mobo because it looks so bad in the pc without vrm covers or something

Hello I just wanna know Is it worth it to switch to AMD 9800x3d from Core I 9 14 gen
Knowing that I need to switch the motherboard The goal of the Upgrade to gain more performance gpu 4080s 1440p

If you want to upgrade, upgrade.
but you dont need to replace the motherboard for it, just update the BIOS before swapping CPUs and you're good to go.
There's almost no actual difference moving from B650 chipset to B850. At the most basic level, 800 series chipset is just a refresh of the 600 series that has native support for Ryzen 9000 CPUs.
Dont replace the motherboard unless there is a specific feature you want/need that your current board does not have.

The reason why I need to update the mobo not the cheapest, but to get a good looking mobo with good vrm coverage and modern I/O shield

I dont know of any B series board that doesnt have heatsinks for VRMs.

What's your GPU utilization in games? If it's near 100%, a CPU upgrade likely won't help.
Saleh_Adel@reddit (OP)
It’s near 100 yeah, but some games idk its less than 40% usage on gpu and about 60-70 usage cpu

Tbh the 9600x3d would give you the maximum amount of prrformance that card can dish out anyways..
Heck even the 7500x3d
Do you need the 5800x3d? Do you have a ton of shit opened in the background while playing?
If not the 9600x3d is more than enough

No, not worth it. Wait for next gen AM5.

Yes I had grabbed the 9850x3d bundle and paired it with a 5070 (gigabyte gaming oc). With a undervolt/overclock to the 5070 and setting up a good curve and tune to 9800/9850x3d you will have very high 1% lows.
