Is anyone familiar with BIMM's Performers College for Musical Theatre?

We live in the US and my daughter did a walk-in audition for them here in Chicago at a musical theatre audition event. She was accepted, and it would possibly be more affordable to send her there than to get a degree here in the states (especially since it's 3 years instead of 4). But I can't find much about them online. Is one campus better than the others? Do they have a good reputation? Do their students tend to get agents / work?

Performers college is a complete scam, ex staff member here. I wouldn’t recommend it if she lived next door, let alone moving halfway around the world for it.

The three links are for specialist theatre/ music theatre unis which have a good reputation. If she likes the idea of coming over here for study, I would check those out. It is a minefield trying to figure what's best! I would say a lot depends on how often she would like to come home and how much that fits within your budget. Most unis are closed between mid May to late September here, if that helps.

My daughter is studying songwriting and production at icmp in London. Her boyfriend is at Waterbear doing the same in Brighton. Both were initially at a music college in Brighton. They are really happy with the courses and what they are learning. Bimm is not as good as it used to be and is riding on past reputation a little. A lot of students find the courses disorganised, much of this is due to a corporate takeover about 3 years ago, when they made redundant many long-term staff. It would be worth her looking at icmp which has locations in London Liverpool and Leeds , Waterbear in Brighton and lccm which is based in London as well. If she does come over here for any of those universities she will have to find private student accommodation as neither none of the unis provide it associated with the universities. ( they're many options for this) Hope that helps

Thank you! She isn’t set on going to the UK or anything. It would actually be a challenge to be so far from home (although exciting too!). She has acceptances to a few great schools here in the states. Performers just happened to be here for auditions and also accepted her. From what I can gather they aren’t reputable enough to move overseas for. I think it would only be worth it if it was known for being a fantastic program.

This would depend greatly on location and chosen degree - the lecturers will make all the difference in terms of learning and prospects.

I only know the Brighton one, which has been open the longest and has a good record of producing graduates/musicians that go on to successful careers. Plus, Brighton has a vivid nightlife and plenty of venues to play gigs/perform. Cheaper to live than London - about the same as Bristol (which also has a vibrant youth culture.
