If someone has a (video) doorbell, and you needed to get the occupant to the door, why wouldn’t you press the bell?

We have moved to a new area, and one of the first things we did was install our Blink doorbells and cameras that we brought from our previous house. I’ve never had any issues at my hold house; people would press the bell to get my attention, I answer the door to see what they want - easy. In our new house, people don’t knock or press the bell - they just kinda stand there and expect someone will answer the door. I can’t get my head around it; they must’ve seen the doorbell otherwise they’d knock. So do they just assume video doorbells notify my of someone’s presence? I’ve missed so many parcels because of this and it’s driving me mad. What reasons can you think of why people wouldn’t press the bell? Just to add, I have tested the bell several times and it works as expected so it’s not that I’m missing them press it.
