My initial reaction at seeing your image was actually: "You know you're a GenX or Boomer when your to-do list was written on a paper notepad XD As a teen, one of the first software that I bought for my IBM PC/AT (purchased by my IBM engineer father upon release in 1984 at 50% IBM employee discount) was a text editor that basically was an electronic outliner called "ThinkTank". ThinkTank then quickly resulted in other PC outlining software copycats. ThinkTank was basically a "folding editor" that let you enter text in an outline format and you could expand each section of the outline, collapse sections, expand all, or collapse all. They advertised ThinkTank for use by everyone from authors to engineers to software programmers to students as a way to gather, prioritize, and expand your thoughts, ideas, and the user could just expand each section while collapsing all other sections. I had one specific ThinkTank "To-Do" file where I listed "Today's To-Dos", "This Week's To-Dos", "This Month's To-Dos", "This Year's To-Dos", and "Long-Term Goals" in ThinkTank's folding editor outline format, so various to-dos had further sub-to-dos listed below them. While there was an indescribable satisfaction in drawing a line through each to-do written on paper, my daily to-dos later went from the ThinkTank file on my PC to being recorded onto my Sony Walkman cassette player/recorder and later onto small digital voice recorders before smartphones arrived.
